I am going to Disney in June with my 11 year old son for the 2nd time. I have signed us up for a 12:30 WAT. I see lots of great things about it, but they all seem to be from official Disney sites. I was hoping for some real reactions to it. Is it worth it ($300 total for the 2 of us and 3 hours of touring time)? My current plan is to totally surprise the little guy with the adventure. Thoughts? Thanks!

Worth it. Food good. Guides funny. Pictures great. Got close to a rhino. Walking the bridges fun too.

I'd love to do it, but just can't swallow the price tag :-(. Especially with our Canadian dollar now.

Yup, totally worth it. One of our best experiences at WDW. There was a bit of a discount when we booked it, but would book at full price as well knowing now how great it was.

Worth every penny. It was great. DH has done it twice, DS, DDIL and I went with him the second time.
Enjoy

We are doing WAT 6/30 at 11:45am! There was a discount offered for tours after 11am, I think. I guess because it gets so hot in the Summer! It's going to be HOT, but I'm so excited!

Ours was like, 1:30 or 1:45 .... in May, but on a HOT day !!! But it was still fantastic, and all the animals were out, including the lions !!!

We did the 11:45 time slot. At that time we got a discount for going to the early showing. The photos are fantastic, the food is yummy too.

Yay! You guys have got me excited! Thanks so much. Now the big trick is keeping it a secret from the kiddo.

Looking at doing this, too, but does it get too hot in the afternoon? They are running a big discount for anything after 11:00, which is in the thick of the day. Will the animals be doing anything (We're going in May)?

Completely worth it - and I highly recommend doing the one first thing in the morning if it's available. It is kind of cool to walk into an empty Animal Kingdom and to be out on the safari paths with no one there. I paid for myself, my DS and my DH. We got the most fabulous pictures and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

I booked this for an 8 AM tour in September for my DF and myself. I can not wait to experience this! We'll be on our honeymoon so it will be a great memory to share together ::yes::

We did one of the discounted ones in August (2013). It was hot, but all the animals were still out and and active. We parked for a while to watch the elephants play, and the giraffes were running around while we were eating. We loved the experience and would definitely do it again.

My family of 4 did this when it first started and they had the discounted pricing (can't remember the exact cost but I think it was around $500 total). At the time my kids were 13 and 10. I wouldn't be able to swing the cost for the 4 of us now but I am so glad we got the opportunity to do it once. It is by far the best Disney experience we have had to date. My kids still talk about it. I highly recommend it and if it wasn't for the price tag, would do it again in a heart beat.

We (family of 4) did it about 3 years ago and it was totally worth every single penny. The pictures that came with it came out soooo great, and there's tons of times for you to take your own pictures, too! There's some walking sections that include behind the scenes lookouts that we'll never forget and there's plenty of time to ask the guides questions about the animals and the park. The lunch was yummy; a little adventurous for my one picky eater, but it was great! We chose to go first thing in the morning and our lunch was near the end of the tour. Your mileage may vary.
