Wild Africa Trek - camera question

We want to schedule the Wild Africa Trek tour for our upcoming trip. I read that Disney photographers are on hand to take photos but we would like to also have our cameras with us. Can we take a camera that would be on a strap and hanging by our side (strap crisscrosses the body)? I'm sure our smaller camera is okay - point and shoot that can fit in a pocket - it's the larger one that we also want to have on hand.

I've found that doing a quick search of the forums often turns out answers to my questions.
