I've taken everything I know about VMK, and everything I've picked up from all the web sites on it, and compiled it together into a Wikipedia article.

I'd post the link but this board won't let me, so go to wikipedia . org and enter Virtual Magic Kingdom or VMK to see it.

Please have a look, let me know if it's useful to you, or if you have any corrections or additions. :)

That's a really nice Wikipedia article!

Since you are including Hidden Mickey Quest spoilers, you could also include the in-park quest spoilers if you wanted to.

The "Conquer the Sea" game "awards a few pirate-themed prizes" -- should mention that this is the way to get the Skull Rock room, which for many is a favorite.

Under badges for VMK staff and community leader, you can mention that the names of people with those badges are preceeded by VMK_ and CL_ as well (there have been reports of people impersonating staff and CL)

For Community, you could also include:
- VMK fan site
- Disney Ear = EchoEars boards
- "Enter caught" has been forbidden by VMK from signatures and room names, but they are permitted to use "WDW inside and out"; they do "say" enter caught

(Yes, I know it's a Wiki, and I could figure out how to add it myself, but I'm too lazy :) )

Thank you very much for the tips! I'll work on those. :)

I thought about posting the answers to the in-park quests, but I decided that would just be giving TOO much away - it would take all the fun out of them. The only reason I posted the codes and the HM locations was that lots of other web sites are already posting them, they're really easy to find already, so it's not a big loss to have them in Wikipedia as well. I haven't seen any other sites with the quest answers yet, so that's why I'm leaving them out of the article.

Incidentally, what do you need to be able to do to edit a Wikipedia article? And who is able to do return to previous versions in case someone defaces an article?

A while ago, I set up a wiki on a home server, but did not allow it to be openly editable, because too many people link-spam wiki's for Search engine boosting.

On Wikipedia, to edit the article, all you have to do is click the "Edit this page" button. You don't even need to be logged in (though creating an account lets you track your edits easier). Yes, it is very easy to vandalize Wikipedia articles, but it's even easier to revert the vandalism, so vandals usually give up quickly (and if they don't, they can just as easily be blocked). To revert to a previous revision, click on "Page history" and click the date of the revision you want to revert to, then click "Edit this page" and save it without changes.

If you set up your own personal Wiki, I think you can make it so that only registered users are allowed to make edits, and then you can restrict your site's registration and kick users off if they spam - that should get rid of the link-spammers.

Good luck with it! :)
