Wifi offered by Disney?

Any chance (or any rumors out there) that Disney will ultimately provide free wifi for the Parks? Perhaps to facilitate MP? We had to call Verizon to up our plan mid-trip last time because we were running through the GBs accessing the App continually...first time ever, the cellular roaming was killing us. Just wondering if there's been any chatter on wifi?? Thanks!!

They have added hotspots. Check the app under "guest services".

DLR has added free wifi in the parks because of MaxPass. The hotspots are marked on the maps. The reception is okay, not great, within about 100' of the hotspot, but not much further out. Reception is better in DCA than in DL.
