Wifi In the Parks

It is extremely erratic and spotty as of now. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't, but when it does, it's always slow.

The last three weeks I have been there, I have had 0 success connecting to it. My phone gets to the connection point then fails every time (error). My husband is constantly on his phone and has been barely able to connect. We actually hang out in New Orleans for at least 30 minutes or more and still could not connect to the wifi there.

We had better success when they first stated testing. Now, not so much.

That's so frustrating! Why can't they sorry it? If Knotts and Universal can have wifi that you only need to connect to once and you're on all day all around the parks, why can't Disney?

It's not like plugging in a router in your house. Setting up overlapping wireless coverage over an extensive area that will be used by what I would assume is a potentially significantly larger crowd is not a trivial task. I work in IT and there's a saying when management or a customer wants a project done fast, high quality and cheap. You can pick two, but you can't get all three.

Spoke with a CM today about this. She said that they are well aware of the wi-fi problems and are prepared for it not to be fully operational when MaxPass rolls out on the 21st. Since paper FPs will still be available and MP won't be mandatory, they are going to do their best to get things resolved, even if they don't meet the deadline on the 21st.

You do have the option (according to the CM in question) of paying for MP, which includes PP, and using your own provider. Not everyone needs PP, so paper FP would still be a viable option. If you want MP and the PP perk, then hope that Disney's wi-fi is running well enough by the 21st or use your own data plan.
