I forgot - we had a little girl in our school last year named Nastiya. It's pronounced nuh-STIGH-uh, but everytime I saw it all I could think was "nasty-uh."
There was a girl I went to school with who named her son Rage. She pretty much doomed herself with a name like that. Can you imagine him in his toddler years?!
Somebody on the disboards has a son or nephew named Rage....![]()
There is an ob/gyn who works on my block, his name is Dr. Fuchs. If I spelt it the way it is pronounced, I would not get through the DIS filter. Somehow, I find it oddly appropriate.
I just thought of another....
My one daughter spent 2 weeks in the neonatal unit when she was born. There was a baby there with no name... The day before we took my daughter home, that girl was named.
She was getting much better.... and they named her "Miracle Destiny"..... which the sentiment was nice, but I could never see naming a child that.
Friends student's names:
Sh**head, pronounced shi-theed
Mattress, pronounced muh-treese
This topic was on the radio the other day... someone called in to say they knew a Jenna Tails.
My cousin named his son Hamlet. No joke! I don't know if it's weird, but it's certainly not common.![]()
