DS and I returned a week ago from a great week at WDW. I did all the laundry which was a lot and there were 2 shirts, one for each, that had strange stains show up only after they were washed. It looks a little like a bleach stain but the color is only slightly lighter. It isn't something from the machine because you can see it got on the clothes as they were worn. It is in circles on the front and back. It is only on the shirts that he and I wore home on our trip. We stayed at Pop. We did not wear those clothes to the parks. We never noticed anything sprayed on us. Didn't wear perfume or hair spray. I can't figure out where these came from. Anyone else notice anything funny?

I am confused - why is this a question only for those who flew? were you wearing these items only on the plane? I fly almost every week and sometimes twice a week and in all the years of flying I have not had a mysterious stain appear due to flying.

Are you thinking that it was from security? from the airplane seat? I'm really trying to be helpful but don't know why it would be a flying question.

At the moment I am thinking sunblock too, or some kind of lotion.

You mentioned that it was on Front and Back of the shirt... if you folded the shirt, and put it in your luggage... would the stains line up?

Was there anything in your luggage that could have leaked?

As Tyler pointed out, it's odd to have anything line up back to front, unless something went through your body (which I am SURE you would have noticed ;) )

Hmm.... unless you have somehow discovered the secret mark which WDW places on people

whoops sorry! I'll have to go back and edit my post!

But I'm a little worried that we won't see jjarman again now that the secret has been revealed :scared1:

We weren't wearing sun block as we only went straight from the hotel to the airport via ME. DS had worn his shirt briefly earlier in the week but mine was a new t-shirt I had bought at the gift shop at Pop. The stains do not line up at all. They are bit circular stains for the most part. One looks like a drip down the shirt. I know I sound crazy but it has ruined 2 good shirts. And one was my only souvenier t-shirt. I guess no one else had anything like this. I honestly wondered if it was something from security they spray to see if you have been in contact with explosives or something.

Where do they spray you at security? I never had that.

somewhere you and I have never been.... ;)

is the OP referring to puffer machines perhaps? they don't spray, though

As long as it's not placed on my forehead. Hidden Mickey style..;)

OP, I hope you find some way to remove it.

Did you have them near any chlorine at the pools?
I once ruined a good pair of jeans by getting dishwasher detergent on them. It has some bleach in it.

I don’t know of anything that would have been sprayed on the clothes in security. That is just something I wondered about. Or maybe someone around us was spraying something we didn’t notice. The stains on DS’s shirt are gradually getting better after washing it about 4 times. I even soaked them both in plain water overnight hoping to get it out. My shirt is still stained though. I don’t think it is bleach and we only walked around the pool on our way from the room to the foodcourt. It was very windy that day so possibly something blew on them but these are large stains, anywhere from an half inch to 3 inches across. It is very strange though that it was only on the top portions of the shirts we wore home and not on the pants at all.

could it been something leaking from the over head bin on the plane? i had a woman sitting next to me that had pedi light clear liquid in her diaper bag above us in the over head bin. the bottle broke open during flight and was dripping down the my back, it didnt notice it until we landed and i got up and moved around and noticed my sweater hung over my shoulders was wet. then i pulled our jackets out of the bin and the were also wet from the pedi light. :scared1: i was so mad because when we arrive home it was 20 degrees out and we couldnt put our coats on and my back was wet. thank goodness it was clear liquid.

I guess it could have been something leaking from the bin but we never noticed our clothes being wet or even damp. One stain does look more like a drip but the others look like it was something poured directly onto the shirts or sprayed onto them from right in front. I don't want y'all to think I am some strange conspiracy freak. I really am not. It was just so strange and something that has never happened to us before. And if the stains had ended up on other clothes we had worn that week I would have never thought anything of it. We did go to the food court so maybe some kid had something that they were spraying around and we didn't notice it. Who knows.

What this sounds like to me is if they were new it might be were the dye did not take to the shirt. We have had this happen before with t shirts we bought. They looked fine in the store and then when I got them home and washed them I noticed the color was not as vibrant as the rest of the shirt. Like I had bleached it or something. I took the shirts back to the store and they said it was the same with a whole batch of shirts. They just didn't get dyed properly. Hope this helps in any way!

Thanks for the message. If it was just my shirt which was new and never worn I would say that is it. But DS's shirt had been worn and washed several times. I'm sorry to keep shooting down all the theories but so far nothing really fits. It is just one of those mysteries I guess until someone else posts on here the same thing happened to them.
