Wicked Broadway Stategy

Thanks for all the input. I'm going to ask if DH is willing to go to the Box Office. If not, I'll buy it through ticketmaster (yes, the link from the Wicked website goes straight there).

I do have a regular Amex and a Costco Amex. Any advantage in getting better seats, etc.?

Just wanted to chime in as my sister and I just went to see Wicked on Broadway on July 9. If your husband can go to the box office, send him! You save almost $40 PER TICKET compared to the fees from buying them online. I couldn't believe the savings were that much! I work over in NJ during the week (but live in KC, MO) and it was definitely worth the drive through NYC to save the $$!!

Service Charges through ticket master is $7.75 a ticket. Lowest price I could find so far is $124 including the service charge.

I read somewhere that Row B Center in the Mezz was the best for Wicked.

Which seat is better? Orch CENTER Row P or Q or Mezz Row B Left (aisle - close to center) Prices are the same.

Thanks.

This is exactly where we sat and the seats couldn't be more PERFECT!

Wow, great to know! I was looking at the direct Broadway website (broadway.com) and they have outrageous fees...I think I just assumed that would be the only place to buy them directly. Thanks for the info! Enjoy the show - it was WONDERFUL!

Didn't see it in NY but we sat in the Mezz. Row A, left of center and it was a fabulous view. Enjoy!

I was at a Dis Meet in Times Square this past weekend. I also work in NYC near the Tkts South St Seaport location. And I am on the TKTS mailing list for the downtown location. I can confirm that Wicked is never sold at TKTS downtown.

When I was in Times Square I asked a TKTS employee and she confirmed Wicked is never sold there.

We are seeing Wicked on Broadway in a couple weeks. Since we live five hours away, and that's the show our DD really wanted to see, we sucked it up and bought tickets through Ticketmaster. They don't sell them through TKTS. We got last row, top section, so we're all the way back, but it's in the center. At least we're going, and I'm sure it will be fine. It was still very expensive for four tickets!! Good luck!

Just thought I'd chime in - we went to Wicked in Chicago - not sure how the theatres will compare (Where we saw Wicked in chicago vs the theatre you'll see it in New York)

BUT .... a kind soul on the disboards decided to put it out there and do a "group" - we had the very last row seats... LAST row...

and it was amazing! Truly, amazing, the group tickets I believe were only $25 - and worth every penny! So I wouldnt worry about being in the last row top section - you'll enjoy it!!

If you can wait a bit checkout WWW.kidsnightonbroadway.org

You probably won't get a Friday night but this is the best deal going. 2-for-1 tickets as long as 1 tkt is used by someone between 6-18yo. Wicked is usually in there but they go fast, so don't wait for an email. Check every few weeks. I got matinee tckts last Halloween but decided my 8yo wasn't ready for it so I traded with a friend for her Lion King tix. Not only did we both have orchestra seats, the deal also included free admission to Madam Tussad's wax museum, which was set up like a haunted house. Also castmembers from all the participating plays stood outside their theaters and gave out treats. A lot of the other shops did as well.

We saw Wicked in Boston last fall. It was a great show! Can you check and see if any of the tours are coming your way? Our tickets were around $65 each; we were in the front right of the mezzanine.

Thank you so much! We're really excited! I can't quite convince my almost 16 YO DS that he'll enjoy it -- but hopefully he will!
