Wi-Fi in the Parks

Yes. I have never had any problems with it but I am sure that there will be some that say it is not very good. I usually just use it to us the MDE app so it works fine for me.

There is! I find it to be good overall but spotty sometimes. For making ADRs on the fly, it was spotty in that it sometimes took forever to connect. Otherwise, maps and line times loaded fast, as did other websites and apps. I barely used any data while there.

Yes and so-so.
When it works it's great. When it doesn't it isn't. There seems to be no middle ground
I found that it would continually drop/connect/drop/connect, in a continual loop much of the time.
It really made it very frustrating to try and load pages as each time it would drop/connect I'd get an error message. When it starts that I just turned WiFi off because things got totally unusable when it dropped and reconnected every 5 seconds.

Wi-Fi in the parks is free and covers most of the major areas well. But there definitely still are some dead spots.

It works great on my iPhone except when you're using the mde app and when your deep in a building like Pirates or Soarin.

I think do many being on the mde app over the same wifi bogs the app down. It'll sometimes work but usually when I want to check FP's or wait times I'll turn off the wifi real quick and use my data to check quickly. If I stay on the wifi on the app usually the wait times don't update properly or it takes forever.

Outside of the app though it works fine and loads quick

That would be a HUGE drain on the battery as well!!!

Yes I've noticed exactly that. While we've noticed Disney's in-park wifi get significantly better over the years, being at the World seems to be a particular drain on the battery after a day at the parks. Perhaps somewhat attributable to heavy use of the MDE app, but a lot seems to be roaming between APs on their network.

That and location services are a huge battery drain and pretty much needed to be on for the app. I keep them off for most everything when I'm home, turning them on only when I need them to be on. But if you want to do much on MDE you need location on. Then if you are using a weather tracking app for rain, maybe something for Uber/Lyft, it adds up to more drain. On top of a lot of searching for wifi or data spots. And just general usage.
