We are going in July. I'm considering doing an app (like touring plans or ridemax) for my daughters ipod 4th gen--i think we'd need wi fi to access this in the parks though. i don't have a cell phone so that is the only device that would offer an app. Does anyone know whether it would work in the parks? thanks!

everything I have read is that there is only WiFi in the hotels, not in the park itself.

WiFi is not available to the public. your ipod will find a signal, but you can't access it.

thanks for the information. I guess we'll have to go the old fashioned way :-)

I have an ipod too and wish I could use it for internet in the parks. My dream is for Disney to offer free wifi with advertising. Seems like they could get a company to sponsor it in exchange for screen space advertising when we use it. :confused3

Ipads have been used since last year by more and more cast members.
The most common is by the Stage Directors for many shows, and Tour Guides.

Here is the technician standing in the crowd working the cues for Minnie's Fly Girls. The Director is standing next to him with a binder with the script.

In DCA they are used for Wilderness Explorer show, and I spotted them at the new Mad T Party. You will see them if you look.
But, the connection(s) are not public.
