Why won't a guide return my phone calls?

DH and I are looking into joining DVC. We want HH. We are probably going to go the route of resale. However, we wanted to talk to somebody at DVC too. I've left several messages for my assigned guide asking her to call. She has not returned any of my calls. Is that typical of the service one gets from DVC? If so, it makes me think that buying into DVC may not be the best idea.

Just wondering if lots of others have this problem or if I've just gotten a guide who is terrible at returning calls.

I'd call and ask for another guide. Of course, if you called and left several messages in a short period of time, your guide could be on vacation or something. I've never had a problem getting my guide to return phone calls, but it has been a long time since I've talked to him - I've got enough points for my usual travel plans.

When we were assigned a guide, he was on vacation or working on cruises (representing DVC) for 3-4 weeks afterward! However he did leave names of other CMs he worked with that I could contact. Even still it was more than a little strange that we would be assigned a guide who was unavailable. Maybe your situation is similar.

I've never had a problem with my guide calling back. He was out on vacation for a time, but he left a forwarding number of whom I should call if I had any questions.

Very nice to deal with.

Thanks so much for the quick responses. Wouldn't you know it, I post this and then she calls a few hours later. Maybe she reads the board.

I'm glad to hear that this doesn't seem to be an across the board problem.

I ended up with two guides. One who originally sent me the information, but she wasn't available the day I went in for a tour (I think it was her day off). So another extremely helpful and friendly guide gave us the tour and sold us DVC and then the original guide called me when I got home to see if I had any more questions.



I have found their service to be exceptional!
