why were YOU disappointed?

My last trip in September I was only dissapointed in the cleanliness of the bathrooms. I have NEVER in all my years of doing Disney seen such awful filth. It became a joke that you had to open 10 stall doors to find one clean one. it was NOT a joke, it was absolutely true. Even when there were CM's in there to clean the filth was still really awful. I'm just truly hoping it was an off week and we won't experience the same thing in a few weeks.

Other than that, I think it's mostly attitude for me, there is very little that can happen to ruin our vacation, even the bathrooms didn't ruin it, I was just very surprised to see it.

ITA. What happened to Disney. The bathrooms used to be kept so clean. Bathroom cleanliness was definitely an issue in all the parks this trip. :confused3

CP, I love a good choir. I love Christmas carols. I even was excited about seeing Edward James Olmos as our narrator. The cold that night was bone chilling. The wind was sailing across the water and slicing through all the layers of clothing that I had on. I was miserable. My butt was frozen because the metal bench seating in the Theater was unbearably cold. Ok, I can live with this, I just want to hear my favorite carol, Silent Night, it will be all good then. Wrong, they sang it in German. I was so bummed.

But it's a German carol - I think it's kinda nice that they respect that and sing it in it's native language :goodvibes
Sorry to hear you had an overall no-so-great night though - I've got my CP package with Le Cellier too!

Either way, I think everyone can learn from this thread to not let your expectations get too high - that seems to be the reason for a lot of WDW 'disappointments'!

My high expectations disappointed me. I build up WDW to be "perfect" months before we go and then when we got there it wasn't as great as I had built up in my mind (of course it was still wonderful!).

Add me to the list of excessive planners! I started planning our 09/30-10/09 trip in the spring, got into the heavy planning in June (had to focus on a Vegas trip before that) and then it absolutely took over my life from July on (once I started making our 90-day ADRs, life as I knew it was over!).

While I did have soooo much fun planning this trip, by the time it was time to go, I was sorta burned out. 2 days before we left, I was in tears!! My computer crashed at work, I hadn't finished the laundry or started packing, I never did lose that last 5 lbs., and fretting over my daily itineraries was driving me crazy! Anyone know what I mean? Thanks to a wonderful, caring husband, I was able to calm down and pull myself together before we got on the plane!

We did have a wonderful trip. After the first 3-4 days though, I decided to give up control of our itinerary and let the kids (DS-13; DD-10) decide where we would go each day. They were so sweet about it, i.e. "But, Mom, you've worked so hard on everything." I told them I could relax and not have to worry if they were having a good time or not if they would do this for me. Once we arrived at the parks, we still semi-followed my touring plan for that park, but allowed room for more flexibility.

I'm sure I will enjoy planning our next trip just as much, but maybe I'll try not to be quite as compulsive about it and try to plan each day down to the minute! (BTW, my biggest disappointment was SpectroMagic - after 4 trips to Disney, we had never seen it; we went to the 10:00 p.m. show and close to half of the floats were empty, something about wet costumes and almost not being able to pull it together - very disappointing!)
