LOL, I'm with ya

How about bringing the cake mix to the campfire with Chip & Dale, and baking it there?

But thats the point... I didn't get my answer. Instead I got 30 wannabe comedians turing my thread into a joke.

What kind of answer are you looking for? I just wasted 15 minutes reading through pages and pages of people telling you to BUY A CAKE. If you want to lug a microwave and some cake mix to your resort, then go ahead. What's the issue here?:confused3

I gave you an answer. I told you that I have a cake pan for microwave cakes and the cakes are wet in the middle, hard on the ends and lopsided.

Another poster told you the samething.

I have also made bundt cakes in the microwave, and I own a silicone bundt pan, but those would be hard to decorate and they also taste pretty bad not to mention they never brown and are a strange color.

I guess I feel I was giving you straight answers and but you ignored those to argue with the other posters.

I will go back to my Scott Baio post now........

oooh I got an idea

EZ Bake oven!

fun for the kids :thumbsup2

I for one always find it hard to pack a microwave but hey, whatever floats your boat. Hey, maybe you could take the microwave on one of the boats, make the cake there and make it even specialer. :cutie:

Pack an Easy Bake Oven. Its certainly lighter to pack than a microwave and most likely would get through airport security easier than a microwave (if you're flying). Swim in the pool while the light bulb cooks away in the room.

I know... I know... next time I'll try to stick to the real serious thread topics here on the community board like:

How long are your toe nails?
or
Neighbor's cat was rude to me... what should I do?

I guess I should have posted a question about what to name my cat or some random thoughts about Scott Baio and his new show. :confused3

Or just kept the one thread at the BB instead.

I understand the want to have a mom-made cake for your DS's birthday. I think he'll forgive you if you do that cake before or after the trip. We did a birthday trip for DD last year and made-do with the cupcakes and special desserts. This coming trip is another b-day trip and we'll likely do the same, although the cake thread has been enticing. ;)

How about starting a coin jar for the upcoming trip and stuffing in a few single bills too? I bet between now and then you'll save the amount needed for one of the non-special order cakes that are always available and you won't break the budget. :thumbsup2

I'm not sure why my Birthday Cake thread was closed?

It seemed like a lot of people on here were piling on with silly replies and that got my thread closed. Seems kind of unfair that I can ask a legitimate question and some of the clowns around here can get the thread closed because they don't like my question.

Sheesh!

I missed the thread -- but I do have a suggestion about a new topic -- why not make a poll about Harry Potter!:thumbsup2

And I am neither a clown nor a joker!:snooty:

okay mickeysgal that's freaky :scared:

only some were recalled. I checked because I have one that DH bought me 8 years ago

I've changed my mind.

I think it would be a wonderful idea. Bake the cake.

There, happy?

This thread won't last long. It's against policy to start a thread asking why a thread was closed.

I think you should name your cat Scott Baio. :hippie:
I'd watch out for Angel, if she did that though! You never know what Angel might do!

But thats the point... I didn't get my answer. Instead I got 30 wannabe comedians turing my thread into a joke.
maybe next time you should tell us exactly what you would like for an answer? Then we can tell you exactly what you want to hear!

You got 30 "dont do it"s and a few "go for it"s....what answer were you looking for exactly. Those are the only 2 options. Maybe you should have posted a poll? :confused3 Give us a clearer idea of where you wanted us to go. I for one always find it hard to pack a microwave but hey, whatever floats your boat. Hey, maybe you could take the microwave on one of the boats, make the cake there and make it even specialer. :cutie:
I even suggested a way they could have ice cream too! (and maybe margaritas!)
If they just went on a cruise, then the ship would supply them with a nice cake! We did it for DD8!

How about bringing the cake mix to the campfire with Chip & Dale, and baking it there?
if they bring a dutch oven, they could make a real tasty one!

I think that your main issue is that you want to make something for your son for his birthday and the only way that you can in the room is to do it in a microwave. While I think that it is sweet that you want to do that for him, I do not think he would be as pleased with the taste of that cake as he would one of the cakes that you normally make at home in the oven. My DD4 would not care personally if I made the cake or if it was made by anyone else, but if you were able to make a character reservation on your Disney Dining you might be able to suggest that Mickey or someone else made it for him and I am sure that would be EXTREMELY special for him!
