Why wait for a PIN?

I am a newbie and am confused as to why people are waiting for PIn codes - what sort of discounts can you get.

Disney are doing a discount of between 30-45% off if you stay over 5 nights (and depending upon which category you stay in) which is available to all at the moment

How much better are these PIN codes?

I"m waiting to make my reservation because our trip isn't until Oct 23rd and so far no specials have been announced for that time frame to the general public. There have been PIN codes sent out today for that time frame that several board members have received and they varied from free dining, % off room, or free tickets. We are going to Disney whether we get a PIN or not but it sure would open up my budget for other things if we received one!

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm hoping for a PIN that is valid for a certain time of year (October). I can't go during the current offer, so I'm waiting to see if a better deal comes up.

It's all about timing. The current offers only go out to the begining of June. The PIN codes are discounts for dates further out than that.

Yup. If the current deal was for the time frame of my vacation, I would be all over it. It's a sweet deal.

ditto the other posters, it's all about getting the best deal as early as you can, preferably before the general public deals are released because there are more and different types of rooms to choose from then. At least that is my rationale.
