Why Test Track worries me

Yeah, it definitely does happen sometimes, but I don't think it's all that frequent if you compare it to the number of cars that run through. I've been in the queue once when it went down, and once had it stop/go slowly for a brief minute, but I've never had it truly break down on me. If I had to guess, I've ridden it 30-40 times. Luck of the draw for me.

Yesterday, my family and I rode Test Track. We waited only about 10 minutes because we chose the single rider line. However, as soon as we boarded the ride, it broke down. I lost count how many times the ride stopped but I know it exceeded 4. What concerns me about TT is when the ride is in motion and the ride stops due to technical difficulty, it is NOT an easy stop. It was HARD to the point it hurt. It hurt so much the ride was ruined for me because I was so worried it was going to happen again. Luckily, when the ride stopped we weren't at a part where the ride was going as fast. I can't imagine a hard brake like that during the parts it speeds up or let alone going 60mph.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. It makes me almost not wanna ride the ride because I know it's known for technical difficulties. I feel like it could actually hurt someone because the brakes were so hard.

We haven't rode Test Track in years. Last year, we went for 20 days - Jan, August and December - Lines were awful because the ride broke so often. It appears to be broken more than it works.

I love the ride, it's one of my top 5 in all WDW. But I love cars and race them as a hobby, so I'm naturally attracted to the ride. And for those who say it's just like riding in a car and gives no thrills, sorry, I have to totally disagree there. The banked turns on the outside are something you would NEVER get i thn a passenger car on a roadway. That banking is NASCAR style and something you'd only get on a handful of racetracks.

You have no idea how badly I want to ride TT now. I've ridden it dozens of times over many years and I've never been a huge fan. I've never had it stop or had any trauma riding, I guess I just didn't get it. But hearing you car guys talk about it like this makes me want to use a top tier fast pass now. Thanks!:car:

Once years ago (it was the old Test Track; maybe 2006 or so?) the ride hard stopped on the acceleration to the "ABS Brake System On" section. Felt like it dislocated my shoulder (didn't, but it sure felt like it). To this day if I'm sitting on the sides with the shoulder seat belt, I grab the belt forward so it's not resting on my body during that portion. Hasn't happened since in probably 30+ rides since then, but it certainly sticks out in my mind.
