Why so hard to get DVC Apparel

I agree with everyone. I bought an SSR t-shirt with the DVC logo on it, but would have loved to buy a DVC non-resort specific shirt, especially a polo shirt.

I also agree with previous posters that a merchandise page on the website would be great!

A CM at the Wilderness Lodge actually called the warehouse and was advised that all they had this year for distribution was resort specific. I just wish we had asked there first instead of getting all of the people at the other shops who didn't speak decent English and didn't care if we found what we were looking for or not. They certainly were not going to help you beyond what was on the floor within their particular store. It was very refreshing when the CM at the Wilderness Lodge went the extra mile for us. I can guarantee you that I have not lost anything a a few certain places I will not name, because I don't want to be flamed but they need not wait for us to visit there due to this experience. Too much invested here to deal with non English speaking CMs who don't care to assist you with a search.

Through the years they had quite a few things with the logo on it. In fact, if you wanted it with member on it, you had to send it out and they would mail it to you. We have a golf shirt that is striped green and white and one that is sort of multi colored with purple on the sleeve. I have a shorts outfit and a v neck shirt as well as a few sweatshirts and jackets. I too would like to have more member things. When we bought, it was just the DVC and I refuse to buy anything that has a resort logo on with it!

Debbie--- I have some of those items also. I even have some clothing items with the 3 mountain peaks. My favorite item is a denim jacket with a huge DVC logo on the back and has Disney Vacation Club embroided around it. That also has the 3 mountain peaks.

I had a very nice "Members are Magical" ball cap that I unfortunately left at the CG one night after dinner last year. It never showed up at "Lost and Found". :(

I haven't seen that style for sale since. As the OP stated, the merchandise now seems to be resort specific.

These show up on ebay every week in red and from time to time in blue. As far as ebay goes most of my DVC apparel has come from ebay.

best place to get DVC logo things is at the new general store at SSR..........that is about it

i agree with all of you, i would love to buy more dvc apparell...i do hve a visor with dvc member on it, its navy with the gold/beige lettering..but a shirt or sweatshirt would be nicer...maybe we can get a petition going....

I wish they would really consider what most people would probably want and try to market these items. I don't need a rain jacket or umbrella or key chain or mug? I feel most people would want something they could wear for everyday dress. Hopefully they are paying attention to this thread and will work on this issue. We are proud of the DVC program in general and love several of the RESORTS!!! So we feel it best to promote DVC not a singular resort? Why would they not want this???

do you really think that, maybe, 30 people here, out of 90,000 or so in DVC, will be considered as respresentative of the group.? Particularly when there have been at least two attempts to sell DVC mdse. thru the various gen. stores?? I don't think it will happen...JMHO :smooth:

You may not want a rain jacket or umbrella or key chain or mug, but you are only one person. For example I would love a DVC umbrella and would get a great deal of use from it lol  The DVC member population is made up of an extremely diverse group of people covering a wide demographic so it makes sense to have a much wider DVC product range. I was very disappointed to see such a very small range both in the SSR and BC stores on my recent visit. I really wanted to buy a few DVC items but came away disatisfied with just a pack of playing cards :confused3

ITA that about promoting DVC and not an individual resort.

We have been members since 1997, and I have always coveted the logo wear I have seen members from the earlier years with. I keep waiting for large logo jackets or sweatshirts, but I have never seen anything that isn't resort specific. I know there used to be great polo shirts with the logo and "DVC MEMBER" on the crest, but not since we joined.

Just like do you really think all 100,000 read and post on this board. I think not. JMHO :rotfl2:

I agree with you totally!!! I actually did buy the keychain for my DW "and she loves it". I was just trying to state that they needed more representation for DVC MEMBERS. I personally would like the Polo shirt, while DW might like the other items. But who honesty wants a blau tan T-Shirt that says " I am a Member" when they have invested this kind of money? I feel they need to expand their selection that is available to the DVC Members was all I am trying to accomplish. Thanks and sorry if I offended anyone by being item specific.

Have the issues of DVC merchandise, a catalog or online store come up at any of the meetings, Q&As or forums with DVC execs present? Just wondered what their comments were? Might be a good thing to raise as a discussion item at this years annual meetings - even if it only gets them aware of some interest.

how do I say this...the problem is that dvc has a hard time making anything that doesn't come off as. well, sort of tacky. I"m afraid if they did make a polo shirt it would have the dvc logo about five inches square on the chest and would say "I know the best kept secret!" in the three inch script letters across the back. If they could design/make something that looked good I'm sure some people would buy it.

A few years ago I purchased a DISNEY VACATION CLUB jacket in blue and one for my wife in white we wear them all the time ,on a cruise they gave out hats took a few for the family dad still wears his every day ,but we do need more !!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

A similar question was asked to Jim Lewis on the DVC Member Cruise and it was expressed by many in the room that the merchandise should be upgraded and more readily available. His management team was present and I believe someone was taking notes.

I received an invitation to a survey when we returned from our recent stay at SSR. When they asked for final comments, I made sure I mentioned that I wanted more merchandise, and it would be great if it were available on their web site - and said I had purchased most of mine from Ebay.

I too would like to see more DVC merchandise, especially some that is not resort specific.

I think there is some magic :wizard: formula that marketers use when calculating opinions...like if 30 people want it and take the time to write about it, then it must be more like 30 * 1000 people who really want it because only a handful take the time to request something.

HHI did have a few things with DVC on it. DH surprised me with the EXPENSIVE :earseek: rainjacket! WOW!! Got the cards too.
