I'm trying to book a room one night, Feb 8th 2012. We will be checking into BWV using our DVC on the 9th. ASMo is sold out and there is no annual pass discount available at any resorts for that night. I was given a rate for ASMu preferred room of $130 for the night. Why are the rates so much for that night? Mardi Gras week is not until the next week and President's week is the week after Mardi Gras. I don't remember resorts being sold out or rates so much for that time of year. Can anyone suggest a cheaper option for a on-site 1 night stay? TIA

That doesn't look right, see the link for rates on mousesavers. Do you have a third adult? Should be $101 plus tax.

We have 2 adults and my DS11. The rate on the WDW website and from a CM on the phone yesterday was $115 + tax = $130 for a preferred room, which is the only room type available. No values are available with the GP discount.

That's a Friday night so you are being charged the weekend rate (I was looking at 2012 calendar when I replied before). So $115 plus tax is correct for a weekend preferred. No standards available at any value?

Why so expensive? You are being hit twice - once for preferred view and once for weekend.

Thanks guys :goodvibes I'm not finding any standards available. I didn't think that rates would be so much for that time of year. I don't think I ever payed that much for a value room. Could it be that the values are being filled by some sort of sports/cheerleading event?

Yes, there is a dance competition and a cheerleading competition going on in early feb.

Keep watching, maybe a standard room will open up, that will save you $16 plus tax.

think you are little too early for the annual pass discount - they probably won't be announced until Dec - just kept looking.

thanks Debbie went to the same site - but it took me to a page that say it had only release 1/20/13

very. very strange

I bookmarked yours - so if I need it can find it next time.

thanks!:rotfl:

to op - have you looked at Pop century - it might have something - it use to not participate in the sports conventions.
