Had an MRI on Wednesday (yesterday) and tonight I get a message from them saying to please call them back, they'll be there for another 20 minutes, or to call them on Monday. So now I have to wait through Christmas to call them! Great!

I know I have a cyst on my brain that he is monitoring, and this was to see if it had grown any. So what, it's grown and I need to have it drained? I don't want to think about brain surgery over Christmas for pete's sake! Why do they do this!!!! AUGH!!!!!

Anywho...back to happy thoughts!

Sorry; that really stinks! My SIL was in a similar situation a few years ago - she had a follow up to a questionable mammogram and the dr's office called and said she needed to come in and talk to the doctor. And all he did was tell her that it was nothing to worry about! They couldn't tell her that over the phone? :confused3

Really! If it's no emergency, wait til Monday to call! Don't call on Friday night, or right before a holiday break and leave us all hanging....sometimes you wonder what they are thinking. Glad she was ok!

I am going to say a special prayer for you all weekend and wishing you the best. :grouphug:

But you have to wonder what they are thinking about when they leave a message like that on Christmas weekend.

I am very sorry. I love my pediatrician because she will give me my kids results over the phone. If they call to come in, I would panic. If everything is ok, they just call to let me know the results are in and normal.

That was just plain cruel.. :( I think I would have to mention it when you finally reach someone..

Meanwhile, I'll say a special prayer for you tonight..

thanks all! I'm sure it's fine, or not, and it will be what it is. Nothing I didn't know might happen. Just needed to vent about the idiocy of office procedures! :)

 I know it is easier said than done, but "try" to relax.
I really do know where you are coming from. I just got a call back on my MRI, and was all set to return to work after a couple of brain surgeries. :grouphug::flower3:

I am guessing that perhaps your physician saw the results and perhaps remembers. Can you call the answering service and tell them you need to speak to the doc? When he calls just say, "I am so sorry to bother you, but I am so terribly anxious about the results that I can't enjoy Christmas". I am sure he will understand and hopefully get you the results before Monday.

Can't hurt to try! I think I'll go give him a jingle.

I am so glad that you called and most importantly that the results were fine! As a former manager of a doctor's office.....the staff (and md) need a slap upside the head for doing that to you over the holidays! Good grief!! The universal thought is that if it was bad....he would have called you personally, etc. but still.............sometimes people forget in medicine what it is like to be on the other side of the desk. God bless and have a Merry Christmas!

Hopefully you've heard something by now, I know how hard waiting is.

I just wanted to tell you that I have had cysts on my brain twice, and both times they just disappeared on their own and caused no problems whatsoever.

Good luck, I'll be thinking about you!

:grouphug::grouphug:

Sending hugs!!! My opinion is that doctors office never should have called in the first place since they would close in 20 minutes! Someone wasn't thinking!

i had my doctor called me left a message to call her back its about my blood test. i figure something is wrong called her back she is with patients now she will get back to me. so after 4 hours of worrying about what is wrong with me she calls me back saying your blood tests got a lot better than the ones the year before keep up the good work

He just called back. No change :thumbsup2 Merry Christmas everyone!!!

I'm so glad that there was no change.:thumbsup2

But why didn't they just say that in the message they left you? I think that's pretty insensitive to leave a message like that, making you worry, and then later say..no change.
