I am a 46 y/o single straight male who LOVES disney. (I also love kids and is raising a teenage son on my own.)

John

Have an AWESOME trip!!! We have 233 days to go and it's KILLING me!!! :wave2:

i know what you mean, told my bf about my disney vaccation, and how i would love to honeymoon there and he replyed, 'why? it isnt really a romantic destination and sounda a bit of a gimic' (i told him about the top hat and mickey ears, and minnie ears and veil). He is now off the keeper list and on to the fling list, lol! I will get him round to my way of thinking one day!

I hear ya! It's not any easier on this side of the fence, either.

I'm a 20-something gay guy who loves WDW, and I have yet to date anyone who can do more than tolerate my obsession!

Of course, trouble is, I'm also very religious, which is a big no-no in many parts of the gay community. So I end up having to choose between someone who gets my faith and someone who gets my love for WDW. That's no fun!

But that's okay, when I find the right guy, I'll teach him to love Disney. :lovestruc

Ok...I found Mr. Gorgeous guy...cept it's not that he's not INTO Disney..he's oblivious to it!! First...he saw my Stitch keychain...and had no clue who Lilo & Stitch were....then he saw my Tinkerbell bumpersticker...and asked "Why do you have a fairy on your window" I said.. "A FAIRY??, Don't you know who that is..?!?!" He replied " I don't know much about fairies..." so....THANK GAWD he redeemed himself when I asked who the most famous fairy was...and he guess Tinkerbell.. he had no clue how he knew that and impressed himself.. LOL - He can be taught!! :earboy2:

Well, at least "oblivious" means he's an empty slate when it comes to Disney. The tough ones are the ones who are anti-Disney because they think they already know what it's all about. I'll take a blank slate any day! It means they get to experience the magic for the first time... with you!

Just don't overwhelm him by piling on the Disney stuff too quickly, or you might scare him away...

So I thought I found the Prince who loved Disney.....in fact he re-introduced me to the love of the Mouse...however, after 10 years, he turned out to be a frog....

So now...I know there is another Prince who "gets it" and understands that my vacations always involve a flight from Chicago to Orlando! princess:

LOL..I'll take oblivious too! I just feel like anytime a subject comes up that I can mention Disney..I do it... guess I need to tone it down some huh?? LOL

NEVER!!! A man that truly appreciates YOU for YOU.... and your love for everything Disney.... is what you deserve and should hold out for!!! :love2:

Easy to say... sitting here... alone... without a man....

PB- There's always the fun of finding a single straight chick and going around World Showcase together checking out the men! :teeth: Not quite the same, but stil an awful lot of fun! (And my gay guy friends and I always end up having the "He's checking you out!" "No, he's checking YOU out!" discussions). Not quite the same as going with a significant other, but a fun substitute!

And Monkey Pants, I have to ask, is your name a Buffy refrence? ("I mock you with my monkey pants!")

I know how hard it is to find a person who shares the things you love. It turned out that my ex-fiance hated Disney. Not to mention that we also ended up with other things that we didn't have in common.

I don't even have the obsession that some have. I just collect the Disney movies (animated and live action) and hope to get back to WDW. (I spent time trying to convince my ex to spend our honeymoon there).

It's also hard trying to find someone around my own age that has the same interests that I have. But all any of us can do is hang in there and hope. :)

42 Straight SWM Disney Nut and Proud! Health and family situations have kept me away since Sept 97 but planning a 10 day trip starting Nov. 29th Can't wait, :cool1:
Most of my friends like DIZ but never found a lady that could understand my fasicination with all things DIZ.

And Monkey Pants, I have to ask, is your name a Buffy refrence? ("I mock you with my monkey pants!")

I've been wondering that myself. I have that quote on a bumper sticker on the wall of office cubicle. And seeing the reply, I'm even more curious.

I am now pondering hippo dignity.
