I read a positive review somewhere (maybe tgmike's?) and realized that a lot of you hard-core foodies don't mention it much. I'm looking for a romantic, quiet, night with DH and am being scared off California Grill because of the noise factor a lot of people mention. I'm thinking Narcos. or Artist Point, although I could have sworn I heard about another quiet option in CR?

Thanks!

I loved Citricos. But I am only talking about the food. I wouldn't know romantic if I was hit over the head with it. But I did think the food was great.

It's funny, we just ate there Monday night and my husband and I were just commenting on why don't more people dine there! It's a lovely place. The food and the service is great.

It's definitely in our top 3 at Disney. CG is our favorite, followed by Jiko and Citricos.

For me, I don't want people to find out about it and it become like so many of the great spots that are now TOO popular! =)

It's a fabulous spot; I wouldn't say it's overly romantic, though really Disney has so few spots that would be considered that. If you went later, and asked for a more private table, I think it'd be fairly romantic and quiet. The only children we saw were leaving when we came for our 8pm reservation.

I ate at Citricos on the DxDDP last trip and was very disappointed.. Presentation was great, the service good but not special, and the food just so, so. The descriptions were wonderful, but the food did not live up to them. I found it heavy and unimaginative...I was really surprised. It was the most expensive of the signature restaurants I ate at that trip. I can't see myself going back - not because it was bad, but just because there are so many better places to go. If you want quiet and romantic I would strongly recommend the Brown Derby for atmosphere, food, and service! My fave place though is the Flying Fish. Noisy but incredible food and service.

I loved Citricos when we were there last year. It was quiet, service was the best we had all holiday and the food was fantastic.

The menu choices are a bit more unique than somewhere like narcoosees, and it doesn't have a big draw like Cali Grills fireworks but I would definitely recommend it. We found it quite romantic, just because it there were very few children there so it had a much quieter atmosphere than some of the other signatures.

Wow, I have never heard anyone recommend Brown Derby! Can you elaborate on your reccomendation?

Actually, it's been mentioned a lot this week! If you check the archives, you'll find plenty of threads, including another Citricos vs Narcoosees thread created yesterday.

Anyway: Citricos over Narcoosee's every time.

I have written many reviews on Citrico's, all glowing. Ask for a front window seat, and just enjoy. Not sure I would say it is romantic.....but the food is great.

I pop in and mention the great food at Citricos whenever possible. It's one of my top 3 (the others being Jiko and Artist Point). Other than a rather odd experience with a tableful of "abandoned" children running amock in the dining room, I've never had a bad experience there. The food is divine! Their almond gelato is soooo good, and you can easily make a meal on appetizers alone.
