Hope you have a great trip!!!!

Hello! Well...I know you're in Disneyworld and I hope you're having a magical trip. All of the pictures of Charleston are beautiful. I really want to take a drive through there someday...on the way to Disneyworld, maybe? :lmao:

I'm so late catching up, loved all the updates.

Hope you're having a fabulous trip! The decorations were so magnificent!

I missed your send-off, Mary Ellen, but thank goodness for Facebook updates! I am laughing all your posts on there! Hope you survived your Dawa Bar stop. LOL!

Welcome home  Hope you had a fabulous trip!! I know we all can't wait to hear about it :goodvibes

Well - As you know, we are home. It was a magical trip and everyone had a great time! The weather was fabulous, the decorations beautiful, and the parks were magical. My only regret - WAY TOO SHORT! I'm not quite sure when I will update again, but I will certainly try to get to replies as soon as I can. Today was spent sleeping late, doing laundry, cleaning up, christmas shopping, and grocery shopping.

I took lots of pictures and was shocked when my 8gb card was already full yesterday morning.

I really enjoyed OKW. It has a different feel from the other DVC resorts....more laid back, more old school. We had a great room location right across from the Hospitality House so we had plenty of pool and hot tub time.

The parks were pretty crowded on Sunday and Monday, but the parks were filled with newbies who didn't use the FP system very well. That worked to our advantage.

Not sure how I will tolerate the June weather after visiting during such perfect weather, but I'm sure I'll manage! :rotfl:

I'm glad you enjoyed OKW, I just called Sunday to make our request for a villa close to the hospitality house. I hope we get it!

I know what you mean about the weather. It really is amazing to walk around and not be sweating...

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Welcome home, Mary Ellen! Loved all your pictures on Facebook! Looking forward to reading all about your trip, so hurry up and get your Christmas prepping done. ;)

ME, if you do decide to become a tour guide in Charleston when you retire, I can make your historical clothes!:thumbsup2

Thanks doris! I am sure they would be beautiful and very authentic. I definitely wouldn't mind being a tour guide. I like to talk and I'm not shy.

I do so love old houses! I understand the no touch & no picture rules. Flash photos cause damage to textiles & paper, touching will eventually ruin the pieces from skin oils. When we had a historical log cabin furnished with our own antiques along with the sites things, people would pick things up & sit on our bed & furniture! :scared1: We lived in the cabin all weekend during events.

I understand the rule as well. If one person touches, millions will touch. And I certainly understand the flash rule. However, I don't quite understand why you can't take non flash pictures other than the fact that you now own a copy of something they want you to see in person.

I don't think I would be comfortable having people tour through my house. It's definitely not for everyone!

OKW is a resort that I would like to try! Have a great time!

We had a great time and we all really enjoyed OKW. It wasn't my favorite DVC, but it certainly had a great, laid back, down home feel to it. :goodvibes

That Bakery had some yummy looking things in their case. That's funny a bakery sold cocktails.

The stuff in that bakery looked AMAZING! It was so hard to choose. And I think the cocktails are a great idea, especially since martinis are getting more and more creative! :thumbsup2

.

Beautiful sunset pics, the pics of the waterfront in Charleston were pretty too.

Thank you! We really did experience the most beautiful sunsets there. It was unbelievable. And charleston - well, you already know I can't wait to go back.

Have a great trip!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

Thanks! We had a great time and I have one more HHI update then its all about Disney! :goodvibes

Everything in Charleston looks gorgeous...especially the items in that bakery!! :thumbsup2 That cheesecake looks awesome!

That cheesecake was probably the best I've ever had. It really was delicious! And if I go back to Charleston (which I better), I will definitely be going back.

Well, again, have a fantastic trip!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

We had a fantastic time! Thanks! :goodvibes

Love the pics...wow them houses look huge!!

Those houses were amazing. Architectually they are very different from the houses here in the Northeast. Every single one was unique and beautiful.

Yay on finally getting some food! :thumbsup2 I'm pretending that I'm stood on a verandah whilst looking at your shots and all I can say is what a view! I could easily get used to seeing that on a daily basis :rotfl:

The view from that one balcony was outstanding. I can't imagine what it would be like to see that every day. WOW!

Kaminsky's bakery looks amazing as does your velvet cheesecake! Seeing those isn't helping with my mission to stay away from sweet things!

That cheesecake was amazing. It was better than any dessert I had in Disney this trip. Kaminsky's is what dessert should be!

Great pics of the sunset once again..you sure lucked out with them on this trip.

I did luck out on the sunsets, didn't I? But something tells me there are a lot of beautiful sunsets in that region of the world.

Have an amazing time at Disney World!!!! :goodvibes

Thank you! We had a wonderful trip! I look forward to reliving the details! :lovestruc

Enjoying your Charleston photos. Those houses are gorgeous. And a bakery with a bar... now there's some good thinkin'. ;)

Charleston was wonderful and I agree that the bar in the bakery was some forward thinking! :goodvibes:laughing:

I may not catch you before your departure so have a great time and say hi to Mickey for me! :goodvibes :santa:

I thought of you often this trip! It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed trying some new adult beverages, all for there medicinal effects, of course!

Okay, now I've added Charleston to my list of places to visit. I'm going to have to take a week or so to hit all these gorgeous southern spots!

Definitely put it on the list because it is so worth visiting. I seriously can't wait to go back and its going to be a much longer trip - at least 8 nights! ;)

Good thing I had lunch before seeing those pictures from your lunch and dessert!! Oh my!! Looks so yummy!! Although, I didn't have dessert with my lunch.

I'm off in search of a treat...

The food down south was excellent. Really, really good treats everywhere we went and that dessert - to die for! Another reason I can't wait to go back.

In case I don't "see" you - have a wonderful magical trip!!!

Thanks! We had a really wonderful time!

MEK, a reason for non flash pictures is that some museums consider all of their exhibits exclusive property of the museum. They want to control all images & they are copywrighted.

I took plenty of pictures in the museums & houses at Williamsburg. They are ok as long as no flash is used.
