I have read several posts about the CSR, and why most seem to like it, some of those who who did like also have posted the follows:

<I prefer not to stay in the Casitas, but I love the Ranchos and Cabanas.>

why is it that several people have agreement on this.?

From what I read the only difference might be location.

ANY THOUGHTS?

TIA pirate: AARRGGHH!

We were in Cabanas when we stayed there, but deciided we would like to try Casitas if we ever stayed there again.... I think it is a matter of personal taste. They certainly aren't the most remote section (that honor would go to Ranchos) I love the little courtyard gardens & sculptures and the proximity to El Centro....

Although not a CSR junkie (we have only styed there 3 times and once was just a 1 nighter)...the Casitas are my favorite. Close to services, plesant courtyards and fountains.... to each his own I suppose.

We stayed at CSR over Easter. We were very happy with Casitas #3. We had a fountain view it was just lovely. We were close to food and shuttle stop to the pool. Really it was a short walk to the bridge anyway. My favorite moderate. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I am one of those non-Casitas people. I simply prefer to be further away from the main building because I like the walk. Also, if you're one who prefers not to see the conventioneers in suits (which really does bother some people). I think more of the convention-goers stay in the Casitas, since they are closer to the convention halls, though Buzz2001 would know better than I would.

That said, the Casitas are very pretty. I like the fountains and the little reflecting pools.

We love CSR and have always stayed in the Cabanas. The Casitas look lovely and we almost stayed there last week. It is a matter of personal taste but also I believe the Cabanas probably have the most buildings with a waterview room especially Lago Dorado and in my opinion the only true waterview worth having.

This is a moderate I've always wanted to try, mainly for the Casitas area. I like the formal look with the fountains. And the shots I've seen at night look absolutely gorgeous! I'd be interested in staying in one of the suites!

we just returned from staying in Casitas 5....close to the lagoon - really close to the dig site....I loved it. Would not mind staying there again....we did not request anything either.

We stayed at the Casitas in November and loved it. I also had liked the cabanas, but told CRO that I'd take one or the other when I booked. We didn't have a water view, but we had a garden view which was just around the corner from the quiet pool. Like the others here, I think it really is a matter of taste. As for us, we had one kid who doesn't do much long distance walking due to health reasons, and the Rancheros would've been a pain for her.

Our first ever trip to CSR was in Casita 5. Very nice location. We had a lakeview and fountain view. Close to the Dig Site and a .25 mile walk to the main building. Also close to bus stop 2. But now with the new internal shuttle service, the casitas, with their beautiful fountains and courtyards might get some more love.

Another thing is that many of the conventioneers get put in the casitas.

I really really wanted the Cabanas but we ended up in Casitas 4 - and I am so pleased we did. We looked out over the lake (beautiful), were a minute (probably less) walk away from the bus stop no. 2, next to the quiet pool and only a few minutes from the main building. We would walk through Casitas 1/2/3 every morning to the Pepper Market, past the beautiful fountains and flowers, it was so lovely.

We also stayed in Casitas 4 and loved it. Right by a bus stop, quiet pool, laundry room and gym. The only suits we saw were in the lobby area, never by our room. We plan on staying there again and want to try the Rancos.

We are quite the opposite. We prefer Casitas but find Ranchos to be a good second choice. People seem to love Cabanas-we think they are kinda ugly. They remind me of something older and run down looking so we are happy to stay at the other two. We prefer Casitas b/c of the gorgeous grounds and fountains, quick walk to pool, bus and food court. Cant beat it! :)

I think I prefer the Casitas. When we were there during Hurricane Charlie they were only advising people close to the Main Building to come for the buffet and activities they'd prepared. With the Cabanas and Ranchos you have to go out in the open to reach El Centro. The Casitas provide shelter if it rains and have higher floors as they are 4 stories. We also like the pretty courtyards and view across Lago Dorado.

Let me also add whether we stayed in Ranchos or Casitas-we didnt see any more suits in one over the other. Not that it would bother us but we didnt notice them. If they do tend to stay in casitas that may account for why the casitas bus stop was less crowded than the others. :confused3

I just returned on Monday from a stay at CSR. I stayed in a cabanas room on two previous occasions, so had requested the Casitas for a change. I ended up in casitas 4 on the 4rth floor with a beautiful view of the lake. I just loved it there. There is a quiet pool right beside here and it is close to bus stop #2 as others have said, which is actually the 1st stop busses make except for the downtown disney bus which stops at #1 first. It was actually more of a walk to the food court than my cabanas rooms, and I really enjoyed the walk. Oh, and one more thing, casitas 4 is where the health club/spa is, it only took me seconds from my room to go down for my massage ;)

Another one who stayed in Casitas 4. We had a water view. It was great for going to the bus stop--and honestly the bus stop was the place we went the most! It was a pleasant walk to El Centro and a long walk to the Dig Site. But even that was okay, if a little hot (I was wearing highly inappropriate footwear for the walk so it seemed longer).

On a whim, we decided to extend our 8-day WDW trip to 10. (We literally just returned!) Everything was completely booked for Memorial Weekend, but dh kept calling to see if there had been a cancellation. Finally, we lucked into a room at CSR last night. Never having stayed at CSR and not having seen many comments about it, I was less than thrilled but still happy to have a room on-site (Hotels off-site were completely booked, too!!!) and at the AP rate of $109 (The Holiday Inn Express that is about 20 minutes away had one room for $104.). Well, I loved our room in building 2 of the Casitas as much as our AKL savanna view room. We were in room 2146 which is on the 1st floor and has a clear view of a long, long fountain (very beautiful when lit at night) and a partial view of the quiet pool. While the beds were only fulls as opposed to queens, they were very comfortable Posturepedics. Dh and I decided that we would definitely return here in the future!!

We stayed in Casitas 1 last September and loved it. We are headed back next Friday  and have requested the same location. We are also thinking of going in September this year and will probably request Casitas for that trip as well :flower:
