Why no SSR love?

Frankly I think this post confirms the sky is not, in fact, falling.

I'm pleasantly surprised to find if I did want to book on such short notice I'd be able to choose from 4 out of 5 of the onsite options

BBB once again you prove your lack of knowledge. HH and VB were booked long ago by owners of those resorts during the home booking window. It is summer and that is when people take beach vacations. Many of the owners at those off site locations bought there with the idea of spending there summer breaks there. Are we to believe it is those darn SSR owners booking uo those beach locations? Summer is always full at those resorts. Really I'm sure you are a bright,nice guy, but come on, think it through before you post. The sky isn't falling for anyone, there is room for us all.

I have just read this entire thread and cannot believe some of the stuff that I read.

I am a SSR owner and bought with really no intention of staying anywhere else. We loved SSR at the tour and it really fits with our family. I have to say that after seeing some people's opinions of us 'lower class' SSR owners I don't WANT to stay anywhere else. Nor do I want YOU staying at MY home resort! If you don't like it, fine by me! Stay away and there will be more space for my family and other fellow SSR owners. Who needs your attitidues hanging around?

A note about our tour also. I think they mentioned staying at other home resorts maybe once or twice but we were not sold the property based on the fact that we could stay other places. The tour was all about SSR and what it had to offer.

Normally I agree with Beca, most of the time, but this comparsion I would have to pass on. I would say Rich would definitely be shaking his head on this one, but not because any of it is worthy of his unique style.

There was only one Rich, and no one will ever come close.

Thanks for taking the heat off of my posts. You really know how to stir the pot. Your hatred for SSR couldn't have been made clearer from your posts. I own SSR and book elsewhere. I didn't buy in intending that would be the case it just happened. I bought in before the resort opened. I had stayed at most of the other resorts and had full confidence in the program I was buying into. Really, there is a big difference in posting opinions and facts. Your posts really just rub me the wrong way. Nobody is doing nything wrong by booking other resorts at 7 months. Aslo, SSR are not a lower calss of owner as you insinuate and no SSR is not off site. It is not my favorite resort but it is still an on site DVC option and a great one to many. Maybe we will see eye to eye down the road but certainly not on this.

p.s I'm coming for your resort at 7 months.

Several people have mentioned that every new DVC resort gets bashed for a while when it's new. Anyone have a link to a VWL-bashing thread? I'm just curious what negative things people could say about it.

Thanks, reading this guys posts make me wonder if I've ever went as far as this guy? I certainly hope not and I don't rememebr branding a whole group of resort owners as trash. Really, maybe something good will come of this, because I wouldn't want to stoop to this guys level. I'll be reading my posts much closer from now on. Name calling is too much.

Rich LOVED to say the most ridiculous things in jest, just to see who "took the bait". Then, he'd sit back and laugh at how silly DVC owners could be...he had a blast!!! Of course, he LOVED his OKW, and just knew the rest of who did not appreciate it were "touched" in the head.

Personally...I think we've all been had!!

I too am curious as to what other resorts went through when they first opened. Esp BCV - had heard it went through quite the beating.

I am curious to see what the concerns where, why and how things are different now. Was it because it was new, or because it hadn't had time to come into its own - kind of like a clumsy teenager.

I think SSR is going through the same things.

Would anyone have any links to BCV bashing??

Interesting about cobbler's poll. There are 15 responses so far, but the "why's" are more interesting. All but two say, yeah, they love SSR, but they don't really plan to stay there in the near future - they want other resorts. Two indicated they already plan to often or mostly use OKW.

Hmmm. I'll stay tuned.

On the contrary, Rich would have complimented anyone who chose to stay at OKW on their good taste.

You know, some consider OKW to be the only "true" DVC resort.

They yelled at the MGR of cape may until she let them use one CS dinning plan credit, for 4 people at the buffet. I saw the loan papers for SSR hanging out of the ladies back pocket. She went about 315 and was wearing spandex shorts.
