I have read the other threads but just wanted to ask, don't hotel's usually disclose if there is a pool closure for a renovation? Isn't that just normal protocol to let guests know if the main pool is going to be closed for the dates they are going to stay there? We are arriving in 2 weeks and will be
really ticked off if the main pool is closed, especially when it was never mentioned to us on the phone during our booking or on the website.

How do you know it's a scheduled renovation? From those other threads, it sounds to me like the closure is a last-minute thing, as a result of some (apparent) malfunction with the pool's filtration system.

I read about a similar, unplanned closure of part of SAB at the Y&BC a few months ago, right around the Easter holiday.

I do agree that a phone call is warranted. I'd also post on their Facebook page, as they seem to be very good about responding to inquiries posted there.

Or even - novel suggestion - call the hotel. It's entirely possible a stay beginning two weeks from today won't be affected, or they've made alternate arrangements at another pool, or they don't have accurate contact information from you, or they just haven't reached you yet...

We were there in March for the SAB at BC/YC closure & we were not notified by Disney or the resort at all prior to our stay. I did however, hear about it on The DIS before we left so I knew what to expect.

- did you ask when you booked if the grotto pool would be closed?
- there may not be a scheduled closure date.
- there may not be a closure at all

I understand your frustration, but I don't know why there's a need to start another discussion? my guess is that they're scrambling to get the pool situation under control NOW -- it's a holiday weekend. I imagine it might be busy. Alerting future guests may not be a a priority at this time.

If you're feeling this stressed, look at your options ... I can't remember if you said you have non-refundable reservations or not ... and have a back up plan in case the pool is closed. I know you're within 2 weeks and it's an added stress, but if it's this important to you, maybe you should consider switching resorts instead of waiting to hear a definitive answer.
