Why No Fireworks???

My family is going to WDW from April 26th to May 3rd and I noticed that there will be no fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.
Does anybody know why they have decided not to have them? I do understand that the park closes at 7pm. I'm assuming that this is why the fireworks at MK are not scheduled. Also I realize that we are going during off peak season so the parks close a little earlier.

If anybody has a little more insite on this please reply to my post.

I "think" there are Grad Nights scheduled during that time...which means the park closes to everyone else. Don't know if they will have the fireworks for the grads only.

My family will be there the same time and wondered the same. My original throught was crowd levels - but after trying to get priority seatings, my thoughts have changed - some places were simple to get PS's, while others, unexpectedly were booked). I also noticed that after that week, Fantasy in the Sky is held weekly throughout May.

Anyone have any idea as to why??

i'll be there from 4/25-5/2 and was also wondering the same thing. when the original april schedule was posted, MK was open until 9:30 pm with fireworks and spectromagic, but was then changed. i called guest relations but they told me that you can't call anyone to complain, you have to email them or write. it's one thing if they were never scheduled for that week, but when they were originally scheduled an the they took them away... that's another!!! hopefully if enough people complain they will bring them back for that week???

We also planned our trip for April 26 - May 2nd based on the original hours that where posted. We are disappointed that the hours have been shortened and that the fireworks have been canceled.

What about seeing Fantasmic! or Illuminations instead of the missing FW at the MK?

If there are grad nights scheduled (usually Friday and/or Saturday) there will be fireworks for the grads - just not on the schedule for regular parkgoers.

You can still see them from many spots - the CR observation deck - the Poly beach, etc.

Oh, great! First the cheerleaders, now grad nights. Can I go at any time without screaming, uncontrollable teens!?

Grad Nights are April 25, 26, May 2, 3, 9. Their party is afterhours, usually starting around 10pm and lasting until 5:00am. They are usually bussed in for the party and then leave, they don't stay.

Oh we will just wanted to see the MK fireworks also.

I could be way off base here since someone posted there will be fireworks the next week. But I live right here and it is not dark at 7:00. Maybe the parks are open later the following week.

I don't know any answers but thought I make a logical deduction and see if it helped anyone.

When I call guest services, they told me no scheduled MK fireworks (or Spectro) those weeks due to Grad nights. First fireworks in May I think she said were the 10th.

Can anyone confirm if and at what time they have fireworks for the grads? The CM didn't mention anything about that to me.

It doesn't start until 10 or 11pm, so the fireworks would be very late, probably midnight or after. Since it's not a public event, they probably do not have information at CRO.
