Why no DVC ticket deal?

I still do not understand why DVC members do not get a substantial break on park admisions.

Uh ... we do. $100 off annual passes. ;)

Lets just appreciate the small perks we do get. ;) ;)

Remember...we bought a timeshare. What other timeshare gives perks.. none of my other 2 do!! :guilty:

I do miss the 10% discount on UPHs since we actually used it and don't go often enough to take advantage of the AP discount - but the new pricing structure on MYW tickets means that I pay less for the tickets than I used to (I get mine through the Mousesavers link). I'm not getting a discount compared to the "general non-DVC population" but since I look at it as "I'm ahead" I really don't care what they did or didn't do for everyone else.

I wouldn't turn down an additional "hey, thanks for being a member" discount off MYW tickets, but I don't expect it. When I figure that I am getting a two bedroom room at a Deluxe resort for around $300 a night, I'm not going to whine because I don't get a 10% discount on park passes.

As to why they don't - they don't need to. Business decisions are made based on cost benefit. Some accountant probably ran numbers and decided that the AP discount would pay for itself in either increased spending in the parks and/or increased DVC sales. But that giving a discount on MYW passes wasn't going to pay for itself.

Thanks for reminding me of the Annual Pass Dis.

In previous years the pass was not an option.
We would not go to the parks enough to make it worthwhile.
We only travel to WDW once a year.

Due to our schedule this most often occurs during easter week.
Checking the calender we will have two easters in a 365 day period so it may work for us this particular year.

What are the other benifits of the Annual Pass?
I read there are other discounts and benifits what are they?

Love that AP discount, hope it stays.

The Disney Dining Experience Discount card is only avail. to AP holders & FA residents. It costs $60/ yr. but saves you 20% on all food & alcoholic beverages.

A think an easy "bonus" they could grant us is to allow annual passes to be used at Disneyland as well as Disney World. It would be a nice reward to people who have put alot of money into Disney. In a realistic sense it probably would cost them little since the # of us taking advantage of it at any one time would be minimal and would be offset by the extra money we would spend in the park. It would probably get more of us to attend a park that people in the middle and eastern part of the country don't go to very often if at all. If nothing else grant an admission with our use of points to stay in the Disneyland resorts (as they do in Paris).

What park ticket discounts do other Orlando area timeshares get?

Offsite timeshares and hotels do not get ticket discounts, unless they have a deal with a ticket reseller. And certainly they have nothing to compare to $100 AP discount.
