Why no AKL villas?

Was this resort area ever considered as a possible DVC expansion location? If not, why not? AKL has a great pool already, a great but totally different theme, and plenty of room to expand. If they did build there, would you buy? I'd be first on the list. That is, of course, after the queen of the house agreed.

I want a lot of things, like a sunroom on my house, so I have told DH no add-ons any time soon. If an AKL villa was built I would definitely reconsider!!! We are a family of 6 so staying at AKL would require major bucks. A DVC there would be great for us!!!

I'd actually love to see a DVC at the Polynesian but instead of three and four level condos, have the property dotted with single thatch hut DVC villas. Ahhh that would be the life!

I had a CM friend who sold DVC years ago. He told me that the original plans was for the AKL to be a DVC resort. The cost and upkeep of the animals eventually chaged all of that . I am only repeating what I was told. I guess it was a cost reason why.

Mickey2001 -- interesting point about the cost of maintaining a savannah for it. I had not considered that angle. It would make it a bit more pricey.

Yet, I would be on the phone with Byron as soon as I heard!

Ooh, Ooh, I would love the Polynesian, I can just imagine it now!!
Sitting outside on the patio of our vacation home taking in the sunset and watching the fireworks at MK!! How cool would that be!

I think the Polynesian would be great too. And what about the CR? But I guess there is a saturation point somewhere though. I must say, that although I'm new to DVC, I think it's great. Half of me wants to tell all of my family and friends how great it is so they can buy points too and the other half wants to keep it a secret all to myself (and all of you too) But that's another thread.

AKL wouldn't be bad either. But, it would definately have to be a savannah view.
