Why, My Little Guppy Has Groupies! - A Dec. 2013 TR *Completed

Wow that's seriously awesome! I love NPH! Definitely trumps our little sighting of uncle Jesse at Epcot. Sounds like a great meal!

Awesome update! Your lunch sounds great - I can't wait to go there someday! And seeing NPH and his family? Very cool! :thumbsup2 (I bet, if it were to happen present-day, Landon could wander over and break the ice with them for you!)

Would anyone want to live there?

I mean, it’d be above a bar (we could call it Puzzles!) but the location would be convienent. I mean, it’s no Epcot home, but it would still be prime real estate.

Imagine...being within walking distance to Rock N Roller Coaster.
I'm sold... Forget DVC, forget Golden Oaks, where do I sign? :rotfl2:

And a boat ride away from Via Napoli.
Even better!!! :thumbsup2

I’ve got to wonder if anyone passes by me in the parks and questions my sanity.
Um... well, clearly, you're not the only one who thinks that way... :rolleyes1

Even better was hearing my mom groan, “Oh, God, my grandmother had that exact same decoration up every year!”
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: Disney theming at it's finest! Just like at home! :thumbsup2

She was the epitome of a great Cast Member.

She’d mess around with us a tad, but nothing annoying or over the top; and she handled Landon better than I expected her to. Mind you, she was pregnant and due in the spring, so she was gearing up for parenthood, but even so, she made our meal so much easier.
That's fantastic! A good CM can make a lunch so much better when you're trying to keep kids occupied, entertained and out of trouble during a meal! :thumbsup2

Or I didn’t want to make you TOO jealous of us and our food.
Too late... it is almost lunch time and you just said "pot roast." I'm going to be miserable until I get something to eat now... and even then, it won't be pot roast... :sad2:

But that just went to show me I could skip that course on future trips.
Or just ask them to hold the popcorn. :thumbsup2

Alex tried with his phone and actually did get NPH in the background.
Well done!

Always fun to have a celebrity sighting like that, and I applaud you for being cool about it and not causing a scene or disrupting his meal. :thumbsup2

(Little did we know, too, that one of us would have yet another pseudo run-in with NPH’s clan later on.)
Hmmmm... now that's an intriguing teaser. :scratchin

Why would they name a bar 'Puzzles?' Unless... THAT'S the puzzle. :lmao:

Lunch sounds awesome. 50's is just such a fun place... and I mean, the food being awesome doesn't hurt either.

I wanna see NPH at Disney! Ahhh, that's awesome. I would've done the same thing... celebrities are people too. Let them have their Disney fun without being swarmed.

That's pretty awesome that you saw NPH during your meal! I have yet to have had a celebrity sighting in Disney but even if there was one nearby I doubt I would be observant enough to notice one! :rotfl:

Even if I did, I would be totally like you. Not disturb them. Although with NPH, I could be going up to him and ask "Big fan. Say, could you re-enact the entire opening number from the 2013 Tony Awards? Let me get my iPhone ready." :rotfl:

What an amazing lunch! I'm glad that you had such a great server - they can make a huge difference in your experience. Seeing NPH is awesome too! I've never seen a celebrity in WDW, I don't have your luck!

Ok, you know how terrified I am of eating at 50's PT...but I think this update kind of made me want to get over it and book an ADR there. Seriously, everything you guys ordered looks SOOOO good!! Especially that fried chicken! And ok, whatever, if they mess with me and put me in the corner or something, I'll just go along with it!

(Haha, I say that now, but wait til I'm there in September, changing my ADR that morning because I'm too terrified! :rotfl2:)

That's so cool that you were there at the same time as NPH! I never see anyone famous in Disney!

Wow! 5 characters in 2 hrs at DHS and then an EPIC NPH sighting at 50s PT Café.... incredible!! You have more self control with the fangirl thing than others but that is so cool!

I loved your inner thoughts caption for the Mike and Sully photo... your mom thinking darn it, skipped breakfast again! Too funny!

Going back further.... Happy belated 1st birthday to Landon!! Cute photos with his cake.

A cruise in January sounds like a lot of fun. How exciting for those plans.

Ok, now my turn to say have a great trip and enjoy your time at WDW in May! :)

Ahhhh 50's Prime Time! So fun! Your waitress sounds ahhhhhmazing. Could you imagine being on your feet, waiting tables all day, at 6 months pregnant? My sister is a career waitress and she did it right up until two weeks before her delivery and was all, "it's no big deal," but I SO don't believe her.

Neil Patrick Harris is such a cutie! But not as cute as Landon. Just sayin'.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to pop in here for a minute and say that I'm not sure when I'll be back to post another update and read your reports.

Anyone who watches the news knows there was/is a wicked bad storm making it's way across the the U.S. Unfortunately, it hit my hometown pretty hard. If you see news articles with photos of sinkholes and major flooding, that's what my area is dealing with right now. We're under a state of emergency, actually.

My little family is safe and sound right now. Our house was one of the lucky ones in the neighborhood that didn't get flooded, but our car is in question right now. Alex had to report for duty this morning, but our car stalled in the waters and is stuck away from our house. This was it and some pics of our neighborhood from this morning:

My mom's city is in worse condition. They have sinkholes and roads washing away everywhere, and they are under a boil watch. She was without power and water for about 12 hours but luckily it came back.

As of right now, I have no idea what is going on in regards to our trip next week. We might not have our vehicle, and if we do it might need serious repairs. I can hope that we can still go, but we won't know until later this week. Keep your fingers crossed everything works out'

Oh my goodness! I had no idea, I practically live under a rock. We don't have cable so we don't see any news and I don't have facebook. I'm glad you are safe and I will be praying that everything goes well with the car and you are able to make it to Disney. Lots of prayers for your mom and everyone else affected as well.

Oh NO! I saw all of that going on this morning while watching the news. I'm so glad your family is safe and the clean-up is quick and smooth!

I hope everything looks up soon. I'm certainly glad to hear that you are all okay. Sending some pixie-dust your way!

Wow, I will definitely be keeping my fingers crossed for you! That looks so awful to deal with. I'm glad your family and home are safe. I hope that the car will be okay or that you can get a rental (maybe through insurance?) for your trip. Thinking of you guys. Stay safe!

Oh wow! I was wondering if you were affected by the flooding I saw on the news. Clearly you are right in the midst of it!

Keeping my fingers crossed your car is salvageable and that you remain safe and sound.

Please keep us posted.

I saw some of this on Facebook, how awful! I'm glad you all are safe (please stay that way!) Keep dry and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you guys that everything works out ok for you.

Oh Alicia, my thoughts are very much with you. I had heard about the horrible weather, but it never occurred to me you were in the bad zone. Please stay safe. :goodvibes

Oh wow Alisha!!! Thinking of you.. Prayers, happy thoughts and all things magical headed your way!! Please give us an update when you can.

Thank you, everyone, for your well wishes. It is appreciated. Under normal circumstances, I'm good with bad weather. I do live in the hurricane state, after all. But this storm took a turn in our direction and then stalled right over us. Our average rainfall for the entire month is 4.3 inches. In that one 24 hour stretch we received 11.6 inches. :crazy2:

The water in my neighborhood has actually lowered to a reasonable amount. There's only one spot that's too risky to drive my car through. (And, of course, it's right near my exit. :rolleyes2)

Lots of road damage, but that's going to take months and months to fix. Alex's base has been working round the clock to fix issues, and hopefully by tomorrow I can go on it and buy some food and trip items.

The worst part about this is I'm out of things like bread and am stuck at home since Alex has to use my vehicle. Not to mention all our trip stuff that still needs to be purchased.

Alex is actually at our car dealership right now getting the car looked at. Luckily, our insurance towed it for us, and now we have to wait and see what the damage is. Hopefully, everything that's messed up is covered under our warranty. That's sort of what Alex and I are hoping to hear.

So long as everything's covered, the trip's still a go.
If it's not, then I might be making the depressing phone call to Disney tonight.

Nothing like keeping me on the edge of my seat, though! Will I be staying deluxe? Will Alex be trying O'hana's? We don't knowww.

I wrote a brief update in the post before this one, in case anyone is interested.

Can you imagine being the CM that entertain NPH and his family? Nothing like a little pressure.

So, to the nanny with the big 'ol death stare - you can't help that the CM drew all kinds of attention to his table. Blame it on him.

Seriously though - very cool celebrity sighting. I would have tried to get a picture too. What a test of my paparazzi skills. :rotfl2:

Your food looks yummy. I haven't eaten there in a long time. Perhaps its time to go back.

I hope you guys get some rest!

I really did blame the server at 50's. He made such a ruckus that I instinctively looked over. If he hadn't had done that, then I never would've spotted NPH.

Wow I do not remember those grey skies at all.

Oh I would totally live in that apartment Alicia. Well, I would totally sleep in that apartment. As soon as I could, I'd be out and about. Guaranteed.

Haha, the sweet tea story made me laugh. It seems that every time I ordered a tea in Florida I was asked, sweet or hot? I had no idea how to answer because at home, asking for tea just means hot tea. Colour me confused, lol.

OK wow, that is pretty cool seeing NPH just chilling and having lunch. Sadly I probably would have gone over just because. But I also would have felt guilty too. He does come across as the type that would be cool though.

Haha, I didn't even think about the tea confusion til I read your reply. Makes sense now, though. Us Americans are mostly addicted to our coffee, although I do have hot tea every once in awhile.

Maybe if his kids weren't with him I would have gone up and said hello, but I can't imagine he gets much uninterrupted meal times with his children, and I didn't want to ruin that for him. Not to mention the rest of his family/friends would have been shooting me dirty looks.

First off, that fried chicken and smores look amazing!! I have to go here one of these trips!! I am with your mama on sweet tea, with us being from South Carolina- we love us some sweet tea!!

Glad you had a good experience with your waitress! I always love the wait staff that remembers to push plates, cups, etc out of the arms reach of small children.... It's the little things!

That is awesome about NPH... Didn't he do the candlelight processional one year? Was it this past year when you were there?

I guess celebs would enjoy going to Disney with their families! If I was loaded like that, I would be going once a month!!

Sweet tea is just standard fare in southern homes.:lmao: I can't remember a time when there wasn't a pitcher in the fridge.

If only I could visit once a month! That'd be fantastic!

Wow that's seriously awesome! I love NPH! Definitely trumps our little sighting of uncle Jesse at Epcot. Sounds like a great meal!

It was really cool seeing NPH at lunch, just because I was already on a food high and a Disney high and then to see a celebrity was just too much.

Awesome update! Your lunch sounds great - I can't wait to go there someday! And seeing NPH and his family? Very cool! :thumbsup2 (I bet, if it were to happen present-day, Landon could wander over and break the ice with them for you!)

50's has some really delicious food. Alex and I originally had a reservation there for our May trip, but we had to cancel it when we scored O'hana's. But now, we keep mentioning how we wished we'd kept it. :rotfl2:

That's fantastic! A good CM can make a lunch so much better when you're trying to keep kids occupied, entertained and out of trouble during a meal! :thumbsup2

If a server at a restaurant gets an amazing tip from us, it's usually because they know how to handle a table with a kid.

Too late... it is almost lunch time and you just said "pot roast." I'm going to be miserable until I get something to eat now... and even then, it won't be pot roast... :sad2:

:lmao: If it's any consolation, I got hungry writing the update.

Or just ask them to hold the popcorn. :thumbsup2

That'd be too logical.

Why would they name a bar 'Puzzles?' Unless... THAT'S the puzzle. :lmao:

:cool1:For catching that little inside joke. It's one of my favorite from HIMYM.

It was a great meal, probably my go-to restaurant at DHS.

That's pretty awesome that you saw NPH during your meal! I have yet to have had a celebrity sighting in Disney but even if there was one nearby I doubt I would be observant enough to notice one! :rotfl:

It was really hard not to go up and say hello, just because I desperately wanted better proof that I saw him. I felt sure nobody would believe me when I told them.:rotfl:
