Why me? Freaky Paranormal Activity DVD problem

I really like this movie and plan to buy it. I'm glad that your copy isn't possessed - I might have to rethink that! ;)

I honestly liked this movie better than I thought I would. I'm pretty difficult to scare (but I'm easily offended by senseless violence and gore) and I thought this movie was fun. Even better to watch it at home, in the dark...

:scared1:

I still don't understand how anyone thinks this movie is scary. The last 10 minutes... maybe but other than that I was bored to sleep. Seriously, I fell asleep in the theater, DFi had to nudge me to wake up when I started to snore. I asked him if something scary happened while I fell asleep (this was only about 10 minutes) as he told me not a single thing.

I give Paranormal Activity a big ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

Now watching 28 Weeks Later in the theater, I had nightmares for a month!

Ok I don't watch movies like this but I'm curious what this last 10 mins is about that is suppose to be so scary, could someone tell me or PM me????Thanks

It's the only time when anything besides a noise (you can't see what made the noise) or a sheet moves. The end is really not scary at all, imo, it's just the only time anything actually happens. The way people went on and on about it, I was thinking the whole movie would be at the least, as scary as the end... which still isn't saying much.

That would totally freak me out.

I feel that I must share my own creepy DVD story. Here it goes.

My dad had to run to the store to get some milk. I stayed home and decided to put on Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. I can't figure out how to switch from cable to the DVD player so I just turn the tv off and sit down and read a book. Then I hear "Hello, Hello, is anyone home?":scared1: in an echo-y voice. First I think, oh the neighbors have their tv turned up too loud. Then I keep hearing it over and over again. I get up and it sounds like it is coming from behind the tv! I grab my phone and a ruler (:confused3) and run outside. My dad is just pulling in to the driveway and I run to the car and tell him what I heard and I am panicing. So he comes in and looks at the tv and the DVD player, then we both hear the voice.

Turns out the dvd player was on but the tv wasn't and it was playing the menu with the magic mirror.:rotfl:

Sorry but I thought this movie was so boring. I did not find it scary at all and I hate scary movies but DH and DD were watching it and I was in the same room.

I told DH that if I'd seen it in a theater, I might have not been as scared by this movie. It was sitting at home in the dark watching these two people at home in the dark... I was much more able to relate.

I think they did a fantastic job of building suspense - old style suspense - and it made me edgy. It didn't give me nightmares or anything but I was very surprised that I felt a bit jumpy in some scenes. I am not easily frightened (I love ghost hunting - catch and release, of course) and it was kind of cool that this movie made me feel something that I didn't expect to feel.

I'd heard it was horrible and watched it more to appease my curiosity.

And for a 15K budget, I think they did a great job. Talk about a return on your investment!!

Everyone has different things that scare them. I personally found 28 Weeks Later interesting but not particularly scary.

Paranormal Activity is real effective at old fashioned "things that go bump in the night" type spookiness. That won't necessarily be appreciated by everyone.
