Why lime green?

Lime green was in place before I got here. I always figured it was a good choice since you won't find many people wearing lime green without some strange reason behind it. If lime green becomes really trendy, how are we ever going to be able to find DISers at the parks?

Green is my fave. I found a lime green laynard at the dollar store and started to buy it ,but did not. I have a great pin Nancy made me. I will wear it. Thanks again Nancy.

I was around back then. It started out as who was going in the fall or 1999...a lot of people were going during that time and a DISer came up with a thread about wearing a ribbon to represent oneself as a DISer since so many DISers were going at that time. Lots of colors were suggested and the lime green was the most popular being the color of Goofy's hat. Other colors were represented for AIDS, breast cancer, etc., and it had to be a unique color that was not used for other things, so that is how it came to represent the DIS color.

I was there in Oct 1999, had tons of ribbons on and did not spot another single ribbon on that trip. Oh well, it was a start of a great tradition!
