Why Is Tutto Italia Not A First Choice?

I am just wondering why no one ever seem to book Tutto Italia??

I was wondering the same thing. It seems to me, when you look at the menu that it might be intimidating to some people...with foods that most people aren't familiar with and may be afraid to try (except the lasagna)?? Just a theory. I am going there in just a few months for lunch. On our last trip in 2008, two different people told us that the desserts at Tutto Italia were the best in EPCOT. This put it on our must-try list because we think very highly of the desserts in France - both Chefs de France and at Boulangerie Patisserie.

The food at Tutto Italia is very good but very expensive. It's not an issue if you are on a dining plan but I wouldn't consider dining there if I were paying OOP for the meal. I liked the food when it was Alfredo's but I think the atmosphere at Tutto is a bit calmer and the tables aren't as crammed together as they were at Alfredo's.

We ate dinner there for the first time last Sept. It was absolutely wonderful!
This year we are going there on the first night of our trip!

I'm not sure why you think people don't book there---when I'm looking for close-in reservations at Epcot, Tutto seems to be the next one to go after Le Cellier, Garden Grill, and Coral Reef.

But, I personally have never bothered because (a) I have great Italian places here at home that are (b) a *lot* less expensive. Tutto seems to be ridiculously overpriced to me. For example, for $12, that had better be the best cannoli on the planet. Perhaps if I were on the dining plan, I'd feel differently.

I'm not so sure about that. While checking for ADRs for our November trip the only two Epcot restaurants that come up completely booked for dinner on several nights are Le Cellier and Tutto Italia.

We plan to try Tutto for the first time on the first night of our Thanksgiving week vacation. We are excited. The reviews seem great and we are on the dining plan so the cost is not a factor. We are also thinking about adding the new Via Napoli restaurant when they become available.

Tuttos was our best TS meal last trip. Food was wonderful.
Our server was nice and attentive.
We never order Pasta dishes at Italian Restaurants--always try the fish or chicken creations.
I wouldn't pay alot for pasta but the other dishes are unique and very good.

There is a new TS Restaurant coming ViA Napoli which is owned and run by the same people who own and run Tutto--so maybe people are wanting to try it?
Via Napoli will be a pizzaria (a bit of an expensive one though). We may try it but I don't want to cancel my Tutto ADRs to try it.

Two strikes and it is OUT for us! A restaurant this expensive should be outstanding. In our opinion, it's not even close...

I think Tutto must be very hit or miss. After reading the great reviews, I chose it for my birthday dinner last year. Between my DH & I, we order an appetizer, 2 different entrees, & 2 different desserts. The service was great, as was the appetizer. The rest..... I guess we must have hit a miss. We don't even live in NY (), & I've had better Italian many places.

I had lunch there last weekend. It wasn't bad. Not spectacular, but pretty good. And yes it's expensive. I did not order any dessert. The desserts are heavily overpriced. Had a nice glass of Italian wine that was marked up, but not into the stratosphere.

Because it's not even close to being in the same league as Il Mulino at the Swan, a short walk from Epcot.

We ate there in 2007 dinner and it was great! The atmosphere is awesome and the servers were great. They were more than willing to chat with us a little about Italy and their experience here. The food was good and yes it is expensive but we were on the meal plan. We are eating there again this time (august) because when we went in 2009 everyone was mad at me because I didnt book there. So I say its one of the better choices and the desert is amazing!!

We've eaten at Tutto Italia four times and have been extremely pleased on each occasion. We have two ressies this trip in a few weeks.

The food is expensive, and don't be intimidated if some of the items are unfamiliar.

I do, and we love it. Their marinara sauce is divine, and the service is always top notch. We actually went to Italy in May, so I can't wait to go back to Tutto Italia to try out my Italian and to talk about our trip. Oh, and to eat delicious food. On the dining plan, their are few better values.

Overall you can find better Italian food in your home town at a much cheaper price. Why spend extra for ordinary?

I heard it was bad in the past, before the management changed. I heard it got better. Our friends enjoy it. For me, there are better values on the DDP and I always get italian at home.

DH and I love it! But, sadly, our kids don't. I think they just ordered poorly, but they don't want to go back. So, if we could leave the kids at home, it would be our 2nd favorite (right after Le Cellier).

That's how I feel about Tutto too. We went there when the restaurant was relatively new as a walk-up for lunch and found our shared appetizer and two entrées pretty unremarkable. There was nothing terrible about it, it just isn't as good as what we make ourselves or what can be found in our local establishments. I'd rather spend my time at a place that differs from what we can get at home.
