Why is the end of Feb. "Peak Season"?

I went online to check things out for a quick trip at the end of Feb. I was shocked to see that from Feb. 15 to Easter is Peak Season, second in cost only to the holiday or what ever they call the most expensive rate. I wondered what made them raise the price so much. I'm hoping for a studio on points at DVC, but just in case, I'll try a moderate.

I believe it might be cause of spring break. But that is just my belief so not sure on that one.

Actually, there are two reasons, #1 is that the weekend following the 15th is President's weekend and a lot of people go for a long weekend. #2, several states in the northeast have school vacation starting around then. I live in Connecticut & in our town, we have winter break from the 17th-25th. Although it is considered "peak", the crowd levels are not nearly as bad as April, summer or any holiday time.

Presidents weekend in late Feb, plus "Ski week/winter break" which some school districts ahvae. Then early March kicks off Spring break.
