My sis-in-law and I were at DL for one day in Sept. As we were riding the tram back to the parking garage the CM said to be sure to observe the 14 MPH speed limit. We both looked at each other and said "Hmmm someone on the DIS will know why its 14 and not 15" We are sure there is a story behind this and we are curious to find out what it is!!! TIA

I'd like to know too. My SO thought it was strange enough that she wanted her picture taken by one of the signs :p

that is the point...you noticed it , so maybe you will follow it (or at least slow down - it is amazing how fast people drive in parking lots)

Actually, a friend of mine drives a tram at the DLR parking lot and he says that the speed limit for vehicles is 14 miles an hour because the trams go 15 miles an hour...that way, theoretically you can't overtake a tram.

The posted speed limit used to be 15 mph. On the tram spiel, it sounded like 50 mph. We asked a CM about it when they changed to 14 mph. He said it was too confusing for some people, too many though it was 50 mph and were trying to get away with speeding in the parking lot.

Thank you for everyones responses! I knew someone would know the answer!
