Why is my child singing Jingle Bells??

Ok, my child is a nut. He is 3 years old, does not know the words to songs and such yet but for 2 days now I hear him humming jingle bells over and over again!!

The only place I can figure he picked this up is on that Mickeys Christmas movie where the ducks snore it while they sleep! he loves watching that!

It is just so funny to hear him sitting around playing and just humming away the whole song!

hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmmm hm hmm HMMMMM Ok enough! I love it though. Too funny! He obviously does not know what time of year it is. He just says he loves it.

My 5 year old is constantly humming or singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic or God Bless America. She is humming the latter while playing a game right now.

That's great!! Christmas songs always cheer me up, no matter what time of year it is!!

Hey, I sing "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" all year.
Sometimes I substitute the appropriate holiday... sometimes not.
That darn song is perpetually stuck in my head!
And I don't have the 3 year old excuse to fall back on.

Send your DS over and we'll have a regular Christmas concert.
With temps forecast at over 100 degrees here this week, maybe it'll get us in a winter frame of mind and help us cope with the heat.

My daughter likes to also sing Christmas songs, and that is just a year around thing that she hums. She likes to sing Jingle Bells to the kittens, but they get scared .

LOL! Yeap he had it in my head earlier..lol SO I sang it while he hummed it. I am all for getting in the Christmas spirit early..you are talking to a girl who put up her tree last year the first week in NOVEMBER! BUT man, May?? He takes after his momma but just to more of an extreme!

My 3 year old DS also has chosen Jingle Bells
as his song of choice to remember & sing.
I love listening to his little voice while he's playing *sigh*.
He's only recently started singing the ABC's .

One thought did occur to me, does your DS watch Elmo's World on SStreet?
Elmo always sings his little song every day,
and it's the monotone version of Jingle Bells (if that makes any sense!).

Nope, he does not watch that. He normally watches the shows on Noggin so i have been listening to them to see if that is where he is picking it up from. I feel like he got it off the Disney movie b/c he used to hum it with the ducks all the time but now he has not watched the movie in at least a month.. Yeap, he kept watching it even after Christmas..lol I just can't get over how he all of a sudden remembered it and started singing it again. Silly stuff always amazes me!

My then 8yo DD went to visit a Montessouri type school for the day. I knew their teaching style was a little "hippyish."

So it was no surprise to me when a few days later I hear her singing "Yellow Submarine" in the shower.

How funny.....(cause it's not like she would have got a Beatle's song from me)

My youngest used to sing christmas song year-round. You would even catch her playing her chritmas CD's. She did outgrow this but it was funny to have her start singing in the middle of July "frosty the snowman" or "Jingle Bells"
