Why is it June third and barely 60 degrees out??

Chilly here in MA, too. I've said since I moved here that we don't really have spring, we have "wintersummer" - when it's cold one day and hot the next, and back and forth like that for a while.

(Then again, I grew up in Western NY - where it snowed in November, and you didn't see the ground again 'til April. So I guess no place is perfect.)

Chilly here in Michigan. I'm ready for some 80's. Today's high was in the 60's (brrr for this time of the year).

Hot as heck in mid-NC this week. At least the humidity broke yesterday and today.

Well we ended up with lightening and thunderstorms today. Our sattelite and internet all when out with a power surge. That doesn't happen here often.

It's been cold here in Colorado the last two days too. I think the high yesterday was in the 50s and today it was in the 60s. I actually wore winter clothes to work yesterday. Oh well, it is supposed to be in the 80s this weekend. Gotta love the Colorado weather :-)

I chaperoned dd's field trip to a nature center on Monday. It got up to 82 degrees by noon. Two hours later it was down to 50 degrees. :scared1:

They're forecasting 40 degrees and patchy frost for tonight here in SE Wisconsin. It could be worse. It snowed here in mid-May, 1990 on my wedding day, keeping about half of our guests at home.

I should have taken that as a sign to stay home myself. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I would kill for some yoyo temps. A summertime yoyo temp here is if a cool front comes and we slide from 105 to 95. Oh, the relief! :rotfl2: Anyone who lives in the South can appreciate the chant, "It's not the heat....It's the humidity."

Or anyone who has lived in St. Louis. I, for one, am ECSTATIC that it's only 54 degrees right now because I know it's going to be nothing but miserable for months to come soon enough!

Oh, the relief! :rotfl2: Anyone who lives in the South can appreciate the chant, "It's not the heat....It's the humidity." Nasty, sticky humidity that we have even on Christmas Day. People from the north move here and say, "I guess it'll get better once I get acclimated to the heat and humidity." Good luck with that one. I was born and raised here and the heat and humidity bite no matter how long you live here. And it gets worse the closer to the coast you get. Don't even get me started on the love bugs. I'd never laid eyes on them until I got near Houston. Growing up in East Texas, we didn't have those varmints. :lmao:

You keep talking that way. Doesn't work on me though. For the 3yrs we lived in DFW we would laugh at you spoiled natives and your stinking perfect weather. I really miss it.:guilty:

St. Louis is pure humidity most the time, even when it is cold. DFW did not come close to St. Louis with torturing humidity. It is because of all the rivers here.

ETA....We are at 54 degrees with 69% humidity. As it is goes thru the day we will be at 100% humidity. There is no escape from it.

It really is hard to breathe here. I hate that part. It sucks.

Now you can keep your fire ants. I hated them with a passion. Stung 17 times in the 3yrs I was there.:rotfl:

As someone born and raised in southwest Louisiana who's been living in western New York for 22 years, I'll take the heat and humidity any day. Six months (or more) of summer as opposed to six months (or more) of winter and snow and ice is an easy call. I'd like to put away my sweatshirts for at least a couple of weeks!

How come YOU get 60? We are at 47( Naperville) and the heat just kicked on! It was 42 when DS left for the bus in his T-shirt and shorts at 6:30..guess that will wake him up for finals! I have pictures of DD in her winter coat for her 5th birthday getting a new bike, her birthday is June 8 ( and she will be 19 on Monday) so, same old same old. I always wondered when people would ask me WHY would yougo to Florida in June or July...ummm, I'm from Chicago, we travel to get summer, 'cause they stick our kids in school when Chicago finally gets decent weather.( from August to September )

My heat is on again today.. :( I'm not happy but its warmer than yesterday!! 58! WHooowhooo break out the suntan oil

School is out tomorrow, will someone PLEASE turn summer back on???

it's finally supposed to get over 70 today, first time all week. The girls started swim lessons, 9am every day this week and next. They've been little popsicles coming out of the water into 62 degree air. I've been wearing a zipup hoodie over everything. My mind says it's June shorts/tee should be fine but it's dang cold...

I'm really not whining, honest!, this weather is so much nicer than July will be, I melt in the humidity and am not looking forward to it.
