Why is Cypress Pointe $80 for a 3-bedroom?

Why is Cypress Pointe $80 per night for a 3 bedroom suite? My BIL and his family want to join us on our next trip and this looks like a good place to stay. The price is right and the layout is good. There is a king bedroom for me and my DH, there is a king bedroom for BIL and SIL, there is a 2-twin room for my pre-teen girls. My BIL can put his 2 babies (still in cribs) in his room or in the living room???

This sounds too good. What is wrong with this place? Or, what reasons should we switch from onsite to here. Right now we have reservations at Pop Century (2 rooms). We have been to WDW before and do not need "the magic". My family also doesn't do EE, even when staying onsite. I can't get the family ready in time. It may be nice to take it slow. But it will be my BIL and SIL first time.

Hi. Not sure where you got the $80 rate from. We stayed at Cypress pointe in Feb this year but in a 2BR for $67. It is a nice little TS. There was some renovation construction going on but other than a dumpster in one area it was not a problem and not noisey. It has two lovely pools, one with slides and volcano. My only complaint might be that the 2nd BR in our case (twin) was quite small. The twins could be put together or made a double as it was a trundle type. Other than that I'd say go for it.

We just returned from a 2 bdrm booked thru hotelkingdom.com. We too were concerned considering the price but were pleasantly surprised. The rooms available are the non-renovated ones and though they looked a little old everything was very clean, nothing broken, torn or showing excessive wear. The Living / dining area is very large, as is the main bedroom with king bed and jacuzzi tub. Yes, the second bedroom is small - not suitable for adults - but the third would also be a large bedroom. We found it to be a great bargain and are trying to figure out when we can go back!

Also, the renovation work is done for now. The first three buildings were completed and the next work is not scheduled to resume until fall.

My mother owns a timeshare here, it's a great place. You'll probably have to go to the sales breakfast but other then that it's very nice. Clean, roomy, bright, big screen TV, whirlpool tubs, washer and dryer.

We booked a week in a 2bdrm unit thru hotelkingdom.com for around $64/nt. We were there just 2 weeks ago, and we were never asked to attend any sort of timeshare presentation. I was also very pleasantly surprised by our accomodations. It's an incredible value for the price, so it makes me wonder how much longer this rate will be available. Take advantage of it, definitely!

If you reserve a room through hotelkingdom.com do you have to see a sales presentation?

If you book through hotelkingdom.com you do not have to go to the timeshare presentation. They did call us and ask us to come but we just politely told the guy that we were not interested and that was that.

Wow, this is a great price. Thanks, maggiew, for posting this. The only thing that concerns me is the (IMHO) steep charge for daily housekeeping. Do you have to pay this? If you don't, do you have to clean the place before you leave or pay any kind of cleaning fee? And if you don't pay the housekeeping fee, do you have to bring your own paper products? What about linens? If you have to pay another $35-80 a day for housekeeping, it's not such a bargain. Oh, and is there a daily resort fee like so many hotels have now? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Housekeeping is completely optional. There is no resort fee, no extras. What we paid thru hotelkingdom. com was the total cost. As far as soap, detergent, & dishwasher, they give you one to start then use your own or buy in the gift shop. There were plenty of towels - you have to pay for new ones or wash yourself - there is a washer and dryer in the unit. We left the place in decent shape but you do not have to clean it up for the next guest - housekeeping does that at the end of your stay - no extra charge. Linens, blankets, cloth napkins and place settings, etc are all in the unit. We were there last week, any other questions feel free to ask.

As far as paper products and supplies like laundry detergent, shampoo, etc., if you run out of the initial supply they give you, there is a Winn-Dixie supermarket about a block or two away. There are also Eckard's (sp?) and Walgreen's drugstores within spitting distance of the resort--you could walk to either of them easily.

We didn't pay for housekeeping at all; there's a vaccuum in the closet if you're fanatical, lol. There were lots of towels, but if you go to the pool, you'll have to take a room towel with you as the pool does not supply towels. No problem though-- we simply threw a load of towels in the washer and dryer every couple of days.

Just making sure I'm clear on this.... there are washer/dryers in all the rooms???? Does that include the 2 bdrm?

I tell you, I'm having a harder time deciding where to stay than you can believe. I had ruled CP out because of some bad reviews I had seen but I'm reconsidering.

I have ressies at HIFS (residential) but don't think I wanna spend that much $$$ on a room. Other considerations are TPFS (studio) Worldgate or whatever its called now and Mainstay Suites. I do prefer something with a kitchen so that I can prepare some food instead of eating out every night.

Update on the washer/dryer would be greatly appreciated.

yes the 2 bedrooms have a washer & dryer, they are a stackable unit (maybe a medium load max) next to the bathroom in the main hallway. I believe all 2 bedroom units are the same. We have stayed here twice in a 2 bedroom unit, last year during Easter week & this year in mid March both stays booked using hotelkingdom.com. No complaints either time. No resort fee, no end of stay clean up fee. we just left our dirty towels in the bathtub & did not make the beds (but also didnt remove the sheets from the bed or anything). There was a notation to remove your trash at the end of your stay but there are bins in every breezeway (at least on the bottom floor) so removing trash is no problem at all. Just as a thought (only because I'm funny about stuff like this), we covered the couch with the spare flat sheet that was in the closet so we had a "clean" couch to lay on (I do this at any suites/condos with couches I stay at).

We did not have to attend a time share presentation & was not called either time we stayed & asked to attend (this could be because they knew I was a single mom with 1 child staying there??)

I would not hesitate to stay here again & plan to in the near future if hotelkingdom keeps having the great rates for them that they currently do.
