Why is BVC so popular??

As a SSR owner (and loving it), I've kept an eye on the BCV comments for a while. Others have posted some of the most commonly given reasons, but there's one other aspect. The BCV seems to be the most "Hotel-like" DVC resort. Interior hallways, large lobby - with gift shop, valet parking, restaurants on the premises - and inside, great pool, etc. So for the many people for whom these amenities are a necessary part of a vacation resort, BCV fills the bill quite well....

[As an aside, I get more that enough of these things - fancy pool, big lobby, interior rooms, shops and restaurants - when we go to Las Vegas. That's why I value what the SSR has to offer.]

IMHO - YMMV

We just got back and it is definately location, location, location. We walked to MGM one morning and are always back and forth to Epcot. We also like the laid-back atmosphere. It was the best decision we ever made.

IS it true that BC resorts members can pool hop to Boardwalk (but not vice-versa)???

I was thinking as I was reading through the posts here...did you smell something burning? :teeth: Do you think those selling the BCV contracts are selling because they own BCV but don't stay there and can sell there and buy something else that they would use? I'm just curious why there are so many BCV contracts for sale.....I'm sure those looking for one are very happy! We originally were going to buy there, but decided against buying resale for a variety of reasons and went with SSR. When it's time to add on (like tomorrow :teeth: ) I think BCV will be our resort of choice. Although it may take an eternity to get it!

I agree with everything Beca said about loving the Beach Club, theme, coloring, decor, etc. I am such a beach vacation person, not to mention I absolutley love the location and SAB (oooh the sand bottom is the best). On an aside when we were there last, a women reached down and pulled up some of the sand and replied to her husband, "this can't be sand, it's too big and too white, it must be salt." :rotfl: I wanted to say, "honey if it was salt, one it would dissolve and two the pool would be full of salt water."

I just did a quick check of the Timeshare Stores listings and BCV had the least number of current listings, including less than........ SSR! And even the other small resort VWL has more. So supply and demand, less people selling.

Well, thanks! We're going to Beach club in May and my kids would love to hop to the Dolphin and Boardwalk pools. I'm surprised hopping to Boardwalk is "legal"... but that's great news! This will certainly help when deciding to buy a Boardwalk or Beach club timeshare.

What a great read! We agonized over the decision on where to buy, and this thread made me feel so happy we ended up with BCV. I am convinced now that we are gona need more points though! Maybe if I get on the waitlist on our first trip "home" in April, we'll have them by the time the kids graduate college :rotfl:

The Swan and Dolphin are not part of the 'pool hopping' arrangements. They are not owned by Disney. But you can pool hop to Boardwalk and any other Disney owned resort at WDW except for the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is very easy to go over to Boardwalk from Beach Club. We just walked over late one morning and we actually we one of the few at the pool at that time. It is a fun pool! (but Beach Club's pool is better if you had to pick just one).

I agree completely with Beca! The themeing and atmosphere at BCV are why we love it so much! I also agree with Dr.Tomorrow, I love the fact that BCV are very "hotel" like. I like to be spoiled.

I have told this story on the DIS before so some might have heard it. But we also thought about buying DVC several times before. The first time we toured was when BWV was first being sold. After the tour we stepped out on to the boardwalk and walked over to the railing and looked over at the BC. We were standing there contemplating our decision and I said to my husband, I just don't know about the boardwalk, it seems too busy to me, but if they ever build over there (me pointing to the BC) I will be the first in line to buy! We told our guide just that and a few years later he called us back and told us the "rumor" that they would be building the BCV!

I had no idea that the BCV resales were doing so well. (just checked them out at the timeshare store.) Dh is thinking we should sell one of BCV contracts at a profit and then buy up a smaller contract at another DVC resort, lol.

We love coming home from the bustle of the parks to the tranquility and barefoot informality of the BCV.

Actually there are a lot of people selling, however within hours of BCV contracts being posted they are sold. The others are not selling nearly as quickly and that's why there appears to be so many more available. I know this to be true because we were working with TSS to purchase a BCV contract.

I'm not really in it for the pool. These are my reasons: :lovestruc

The atmosphere
The restaraunts
The sand castle kids club
The view
Walking distance to Epcot and MGM
The boardwalk at night

Yes, i hadn't thought of that. Good luck, i've been there, but you'll find one eventually.

I think it's the pool. BWV and BCV are basically the same location. I bought because of the pool hype. We stayed there once a couple of years ago and haven't gone back. We are splitting our stay between BCV and BWV in June so I'm going to consider all the things mentioned here and hopefully walk away with a better appreciation for it.

I own at both BWV and BCV resorts now. I've been around the BC much more than the BW. I love the atmosphere at the Beach Club, the restaurants, haven't tried the pool yet, and the location. The CMs are very friendly too. I can't wait to stay there later this summer! I just feel at home there! I hope that I'll feel that way too at the BWV.

There have been some very good BCV contracts come up at the TSS this past month! I bought two, and had to refrain from buying more!! Never thought that I would see Aug UY up for resale, but there were a couple available, even with banked points! Wow*

I think that I may end up like Beca someday. A total BCV gal. :cheer2: :cloud9:

What more can I say that the others have not? PLENTY! BCV is hands down the BEST DVC resort. From the first time we walked into the place, we were blown away! The ambiance, the people, the character meals, the restaurants, the view, the location, the pool! BCV has it all and lacks nothing but rooms (which in itself makes it better). The more something is in demand, the more value it has. My DVC membership in BCV was well worth the money and my family is so thankful everytime we walk through the front doors!

This is making me feel really good about buying into BCV with 2 contracts!! I'm so excited about going there in June & Aug this year!! Hopefully June since I need rooms still!! Will be at YC just in case rooms don't open up:)
