Why is BVC so popular? It seems their resales go for so much more than any other resort.
Thanks for any responses.

Since I don't care all that much about swimming, I prefer BWV (which has a perfectly good pool & slide). IMHO, BWV has a more central location, better views, a Community Hall and a lower point option. Not everyone shares my opinion, but that's certainly OK with me.
Best wishes -

The decor is really nice with the oak doors, wonderful interior areas, especially for those times in Florida when it rains. Excellent hotel amenities, we had our portraits painted in the BC lobby, haven't seen that at any of the other resorts, we've listened to music in the lobby too, interior food choices, the Crescent Lake area is wonderful, close proximity to parking, the room layout is better than the older resorts with the larger table, desk in bedroom is nice, the gift shop is always a place to stop a few times, (hope it isn't ruined), the beach swings on the beach, the boat transportation to MGM and across the lake, several pools to choose from, beauty salon if desired, nice workout facilities with an indoor hot tub if it's raining, Beaches and Cream, Jellyrolls is not too far away, as are the 10 or so restaraunts in the Dolphin, including the one open 24hrs, marina, ......Beca said:As someone who used to own BWV, and VWL, and sold them both to buy BCV...here are my thoughts. Keep in mind, these are only why I like it...in the big pic., my thoughts don't mean diddly!!!
1) Location
2) Stormalong Bay
Those are the standards, but I had the location advantage with BWV, and I am not a big SAB person. But, I LOVE BCV!!! The big reasons for me are:
3) Theming. I LOVE the "relaxing" feeling as opposed to BWV's "busy" theming. I love the fact that BCV seems smaller and more "off the beaten path". I love the Victorian feel as opposed to the 1920's feel.
4) Beach. I LOVE being on the same level as the sand, as opposed to be "elevated" from the water at BWV. I love the fact that SAB is a "sand bottom" pool.
5) Elegance. BCV seems SOOO elegant. I love the fact that the lobby has a gift shop inside it (I don't think the gift shop in BWV counts). I like the fact that the "amenities" are inside the hotel, rather than on the BWV.
6) I prefer looking at Epcot to looking at the water and the Boardwalk. BCV (at least for now) has some really great Epcot views.
On paper, I thought there was NOTHING that appealed to me about BCV when you compared it to BWV. We were completely surprised that we both loved BCV as much as we do. BWV is a BEAUTIFUL resort, and is definitely my second choice of resorts...but, BCV is now my first.

The growth of SSR has some DVC members worried that they will not be able to book BCV (and access to SAB) at he 7 month window. They are gobbling up BCV contracts almost as fast as they hit the market to gain the 11 month booking advantage. Plus DVC has a long waitlist too. IMHO, BCV is the only resort on the resale market that are selling well above the ROFR threshhold.
