Why is an extension chord necessary?

There are only a couple of outlets in the cabin, so if you want to plug in a blow dryer, curling iron, battery charger for a camera, maybe a laptop computer, etc. then you'd probably need an extension cord.

Some packing lists suggest bringing an extension chord. Why is it necessary?

:wave2:

My husband would have killed me if I hadn't brought it, our hairdryer wouldn't have worked without it.

From what I've read, there is a two prong outlet above the desk but it sits real close to the desk and if you have a plug that is large it won't fit. Also, that is all there is, 1 two prong plug so if you have multipule things to plug in you may not have enough outlets. Did I explain that ok? I'll find out soon because I leave Saturday on my cruise. :teeth: :Pinkbounc

I will stay in an inside stateroom and will therefore bring two night lights, one to be put in the washroom and the seocnd one just inside the room.

Does it mean that I have to plug it above the desk where the outlet is located?

We brought one with us, but didn't use it. I blow-dryed my hair at the desk, and didn't need a plug for anything else. We kept the light on in the bathroom, and had the door open a very small crack. Bring it if you want, but we won't bother bringing it again, in 2 weeks! 2 weeks! ahhhh... so excited!

I bought my blow dryer and did not need the extension cord. My plug is pretty big too. I guess if you are not sure if your plug will fit, bring the extension cord.

I also bought a lot of other things that we NEVER used like the over the door shoe holder ( there are shelves in the bathroom) duct tape, clothes pins to hang up your bathing suit (there are hooks in the bathrooms), and an extra pair of shoes. Also everyone said to buy a laundry bag. We simply used plastic garbage bags to put our dirty clothes into.

I guess some people want music everywhere...

My hairdryer has a large plug, it wouldn't work at the desk, so I had to use the extension cord at the desk, then plug the hairdryer into that... same for my camera recharger, wouldn't have worked without it!

For the nightlight (we had an inside room also) I bought a combo airfreshner/extra outlet/nightlight, served all it's purposes very well!

We did use the extension cord...we used it for blow dryer, curling iron...we plugged our cell phones in so that they were charged when we arrived back to port canaveral.

We didn't need the over the door shoe holder...both sides of the bathroom have many, many shelves. We didn't need a laundry bag or duct tape, no night light.

We did bring a few clothes pins...even though the ship has the clothes line over the tub like in a resort...it was nice to be able to clip the wet clothes on...we had a lot of them...lol.

For the amount of space it takes up in your suitcase, it doesn't hurt to bring it. Even if you don't use if for hairdryer, there always seems to be something to charge!

Buckaroo's Dad....you are soooo right and very profound too. I think you may have some Shakespeare in ya!

We brought one and really glad we did! My hairdryer and phone won't work in the outlet at the desk, not only because my plugs were large, the way the larger of the two prongs sit wouldn't allow it to go in. Also, we brought suction cup hooks (wal mart) to use on the veranda to dry swim suits or clothes, I would say that was one of the best tips. Bring post it notes too they are great for leaving quick messages to let your family know where you are if you split up. And don't forget a highlighter for your Navigator. Can't wait till the next one in Oct. 04!

Knowing BD, I think he'd prefer Anne Hatheway.

Little Twin Stars:

Don't even ask why people bring Duct Tape!

Hey Jim. Happy Halloween.

Knowing BD, I think he'd prefer Anne Hatheway.

As long as it isn't the character Jane Hathaway from The Beverly Hillbillies...

Dunno, BD,
