From the article you linked to;
"Siegelman was later indicted on 32 counts of corruption, convicted on seven of them, and is currently serving an 88-month sentence in Federal prison.
And again, the connection is no more than hearsay; from the link you provided.
If Simpson's version of events is accurate, it would show direct political involvement by the White House in federal prosecutions a charge leveled by Administration critics in connection with the U.S. attorney scandal that led to the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. But her account is disputed; those who she alleges told her about Rove's involvement during a G.O.P. campaign conference call claim that no such conversation took place. Rove himself has not responded to Simpson's allegations, which are clearly based on second-hand information, and the White House has refused to comment while Siegelman's case remains on appeal.
So it appears that there was enough evidence against Siegelman for a conviction, and the veracity of Simpson is in question. If Rove sold his "sole", it must have been to Rham Emmanual who sent the dead fish to the pollster who "displeased" him.
Sorry, but I seem to forget that everyone isn't engrossed in this Alabama political scandal as we here around the Montgomery area are. . .
Siegelman was indicted on 32 counts of corruption, convicted on seven of them, and
WAS serving an 88-month sentence in Federal prison. After further investigation by the courts into the Republican corruption behind this case, Gov. Siegelman was released this past March.
Simpson's dispute was only discounted by KARL ROVE, she testified before the Alabama judicial system and was found to be a credible witness and thus helping to play a part in Gov. Siegelman's release from prison. And I can assure you that Rham Emmanuel has nothing to do with this horrid case.
I know the Siegelmans on a personal basis - he, his wife, their son and daughter. They are fine upstanding people who served the great state of Alabama with honor. Gov. Siegelman has been railroaded by Karl Rove and the Republican party. His defense team is mounting a strong legal case against Karl Rove and I'm sure they won't be moving on it until after January 20. If they moved on it before then and got an acutal indictment or conviction it would have been pardoned.
