I posted earlier that I had quit a few months ago, but have been having some really bad cravings lately. This is just to help me not start again...
I hate smoking for a purely selfish reason. To be blunt, I don't really care how many other people hate it, think it's disgusting, hate the smell, blah, blah, blah blah....I hate it because it actually controls your life!! I can't believe I did something for so long that could make me feel this bad when I stopped. it is something that consumes your thoughts. I sit around and think that I can't watch tv anymore because I liked to smoke when I did that, I can't drive anymore, drink anymore, have coffee anymore, basically live anymore!!
Now I know that's not the case, but I believe that no one will ever know how powerful an addiction cigarettes are until you have smoked and then quit.
And no matter how bad it gets, it's almost not enough to keep from starting again for a lot of people.
I've got a lot of respect for people who have quit smoking! You are truly strong!
