Ok Virginia Dental Association just advised dentists to close, restaurants and bars are closing, Canada shut down dental, I think a few other states have... Dod blocked travel, opm issued guidance on travel, etc etc etc

So why hasn't Disney closed lodging and Disney springs...

Social distancing or what are we doing...

I think that they thought that they might save some peoples vacations. I do feel that they will have to close the resorts. What are all the people going to do? Oh I know, lets go to the pool, or out to eat, or to the lounges, or Disney Springs. We were there one time when they closed the parks for a hurricane. The hurricane turned out to be a small rain storm, much less then some of the deluges we get during the summer. So they opened Disney Springs. It was a mess down there. We waited in line for 2 hours at the Morimoto walk up window. That place was packed like I have never even seen a park packed. Too many people too close together for the CDC recommendations. Same with the pool too large of a public gathering. IMO they are going to have no choice, but to close the resorts.

Because there arestill guests in the hotel rooms? Guesgs who, for whatever reason, can't leave just yet, or who even just arrived? Because by dint of having individual rooms, social distancing is automatic? An DS, because the se guests who are urrently onsite need something to do for variety?

I don’t have any inside Disney knowledge, but I assume they’re going to stop taking new reservations for stays during the closure period. Probably fairly soon. I think their intent in leaving the resorts open was to allow current guests time to clear out; that’s why they said “resorts are open for now,” instead of giving a hard date.

At some point, the FL governor is going to take the decision out of their hands.

I’m at Coronado Springs right now. Yesterday they must’ve reset their smart TV system resortwide. If there’s no one in the room the TV never got turned off and you can see the glow through the sheer curtains.

Walking from Gran Destino to the Ranchos there were SO many empty rooms with the TV still on. Very eerie.

This is assuming a lot. Social distancing isn’t automatic if people don’t stay in their rooms, and there are people in other threads right now talking about going to buffets and asking about pool activities and character greets(?!).

It’s only a matter of time, because people are hardheaded. Logistics are why they haven’t yet, imo. People need time to make alternate travel arrangements etc. DS I would imagine they would have to coordinate with the retailers and restaurants since most are not Disney owned.

Did the TVs turn on by themselves (even more eerie) or did the last guests forget to turn them off?
