Kind of nervous here ! I have 10 nights booked at the WL courtyard view for $223.00 a night. With that kind of $$, I don't think I would like a room with worn out carpet, peeling wallpaper, tile problems, worn out furnature etc...

The size and dark decor of the room do not bother me, I am even trying to get a cheaper view, but the condition of the room really means a lot to me.

What do you think ? Should I not chance it and go somewhere else or just take my chances ?

Why would Disney not redo the rooms here more often ??????

We were there in August. The only small things in the room that needed to be re-done were some knicks in the tables and the border in the bathroom was pealing. It didn't stop us from booking back there this trip.

You will have a great time.

The WL is beautiful. You may see a little scuff on the wall but that's about it. I wouldn't let one post worry you. The majority of people who stay at the WL have no complaints at all.

We were there last July (granted, a year ago, nearly) and didn't notice any worn carpet, broken tiles, or anything else that we were unhappy with in our room. DS and I loved it!

We were there the end of January this year and are planning another trip in September to the WL. Our room was spotlessly clean. We didn't see any wear or tear that I can remember.

We have stayed at the WL, Poly, Contemporary, GF, Boardwalk and the WL and the WL is our favorite so far. I think sometimes you can get a room that is worn worse than another. If you aren't happy with your room, you can always ask the front desk if there is another available. When we stayed at the Poly one time we had a room that was pretty worn looking and another time one that looked brand new. Our room in the tower at the Contemporary looked like it was never vacuumed (this was a while ago).

Our 4 year old son loves the WL, especially the pool slide. We think the value of the Lodge is terrific - to us the ride on the boat is nice and relaxing and sometimes takes about the same time as the monorail to get to the Magic Kingdom. You'll have a great time.

Was just there for a week over Easter with a courtyard view and no sign of anything you mentioned. You'll be fine.

We were at the WL in April and our room was in great shape too. It was very clean and I saw no wear and tear either. I thought that the rest of the lodge was in good shape too. If your room looks worn, ask to be moved.

Our last two visits to WL were great, we did not see any signs of the major wear and tear that you mentioned. If you do get a room that is "bad" call the front desk and ask to be moved. Have a great trip.

We just returened from a 1 bed courtyard view. The room was in PRISTINE condition. I love this place!!! ENJOY

Thanks everyone ! I feel a little better. There are a few threads going on now that have me a little worried on this subject. With as many people saying the same thing there must be something going on.

Things happen. People post the good and the bad here. People tend to react strongly to the bad and forget about all the good posts. There are going to be things that happen in every resort. You have to make your decision based on what you are interested in and if something goes wrong-do what you need to do to fix it. Have a great time.

Exactly NCombs, I think it is good to be informed of the good and the bad. We need to know both so we can be prepared on how to handle it. I think if I get a room that is not very nice, I will just ask to be moved. I do not need to see peeling wallpaper and worn carpet, I can go to Days Inn for that.

That is the attitude to have.

We ended up in a room last year at BC that was not to our liking. We checked in late during a holiday so I completely understood that we got the "leftover" room. The room itself was fine but the view was terrible and (most importantly) it was a smoking room which was not going to work for us. We politely asked for a new room and while they didn't have anything for us that night, the next morning we moved to a really great room. It met all of our requests and they were very nice in working with us.

Have a great trip. I bet you love it.

I have never had a problem at any room at WL. That is not to say that it can't happen...but it has yet to happen to me and my family. WL is my favorite resort...the lobby, the grounds, the pool, the boat ride...it is just a magical place. Enjoy!

Thanks wildernesslodgelover, we are going to have a great time.
We first picked WL because after last years no hold on the spending at the Poly last year we were trying to, well you know, get off a little cheaper this year, and still be in a neat resort and close to the MK. Although I am only saving around $600.00 with my rate. :sad2: I would really like to get a standard view rate and a free upgrade :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have stayed at WL twice, both CY view. We were there Dec 2004 and Feb 2005 and the room is clean, the furniture looks fine, the wallpaper is fine.

If the whole wall paper is coming down or the chair leg is broken or the armoire door or drawer is broken or if the table is very uneven or there's a big hole or rip on the carpet....THIS IS A PROBELM. I haven't heard any of this problem from the WL.

I guess they haven't done WL cause it doesn't need it.

Same here...our experience was great! Loved the deck to overlook the pool area! If I had a complaint, I would asked to be moved also! I really cannot remember seeing anything badly in need of repair! We were spending so much time on the patio...and away from the room that all was well with us! Go for it! All you can do is see for yourself! I am sure if there was a problem, and you approached the manager respectfully...they would be happy to reassign your room! Have a blast!
