Helloooooooooo :earseek: i was just wondering why you choose to go to Disney instead of somewhere else :wave2:

sorry, i didnt realise there WAS anywhere else!!!

Joking apart.. part of the reason we go to Disney is that we know it so well.
DH does not like beach holidays and doesnt like Europe (dont get me started on this one, it drives me mad!) - and Disney gives us a great activity holiday where there is something for everyone..

good weather, good pools, good shopping, good activities, good food.

For us now, it is an easy holiday.. we know it so well.. and love it because we know it!

We did the traditional UK holiday to death when I was a child. Boating on the broads, camping, holiday parks, caravans - you name it we did it. Although as kids, it was OK but the mere thought of such a holiday these days is simply not appealing anymore!

I toured a lot of Europe when I was younger, so dont have much desire to do that, though DH and I do try to do a "City Break" once a year (baby sitters permitting :)) - last year we did Dublin which was OK, but wouldnt rush back.

DH and I did a couple of "Costa" holidays before the kids, which we didnt like that much. No air con anywhere, rubbish food and shops that shut at 12 noon! Hopeless!

DH is also not keen on what he calls "third world" holidays to places like Africa, Thailand, Greece, India, Tunisa etc etc. Im sure they are very nice in their own way, but dont appeal to us (though I would visit any of them once to see, DH couldnt be dragged within airspace of any of them).

Other places we WOULD like to visit would be OZ and NZ (but we are planning a BIG month long trip here when the kids are MUCH bigger), Canada, other parts of the US and a Caribbean Cruise when we are old and wrinkly (unless its a Disney one of course!).

Florida ticks all the boxes for us as a family. We love it to bits and would probably still go even if there were no theme parks.

Because it's the happiest place on earth!Seriously, though that is how it feels when you are there! I guess I just like to escape from reality and it is SO easy to do that at Disney. Me and DH smile from the second we get there and behave like big kids!!!!!IT's the best place on Earth!!!!!!!!

ps, no I'm not going thisyear!!!!!! BBBOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Blimey Allie - I would have written the same response pretty much word for word!

Spooky!

Well my dad tells the same story every year.Every year he asks us do you want to go to....some place in europe.

My bros and i would always say :confused3 "Why whats there" :rotfl:

i think in my family we have had some of the best times in disney and going anywhere else just seems wrong

I'm echoing what the others say here and this is only my experience so others will disagree.

We were very disappointed with the "Med" holidays we've had; the accommodation, facilities, shops were very inferior to USA / Florida. We aren't really "lying on a beach" type of a family and I really disliked the attitude of some people which was to be horribly drunk & offensive around their children (and mine!), even at eleven in the morning. We found there were lots of little "rip off's" that made the holiday far more expensive than it seemed at first.

I love going to France on a self drive but DH is not as keen.

Frankly nothing we have done comes even vaguely close to Disney / Florida: the service, the food, the entertainment, the choice, the accommodation, the shopping and the fantastic welcome we always get for all ages of our family.

For only a little more money I can go to Florida rather than a typical Med holiday and I can't see us returning to the Med in the near future. To be fair I have only been to Spain / Ibiza so other places may be nice but for me, I would rather be at Disney :)

::yes:: ::yes:: Could'nt agree more!

I've been to all places in Spain when I was younger, when we (me and dp) got together we always like the thought of going to disney but never got round to going, until DD was born, and when she was 2 we went Martyn has never been abroad in his life, so flying was new to him,we have been 3 times and martyn will only go to florida/americas...we just love the atmosphere, people, friendlyness, attractions, relaxation, the whole package and DD has the holiday of her life, its fantastic.
And its the only place in the world you dont have to ACT your age, lol, we act like big kids when there, its fantastic!!! :rotfl:
