Mermaid Ariel said:Why do you have to be insulting about it? If I don't like the food choices, I'll just eat somewhere else! What's wrong with that?
Not going to read all the posts. But as I understand it, people are complaining about all the healthy choices that they are being forced to eat with a gun pointed at their heads? Is that about right? All those veggies burgers and tofu places are doing well in the parks I gather.
My only real comment is this: Had a long talk with one of the head paramedics on site from RC last year. During the conversation he mentioned about all the heart attacks they respond to during the year. Some fatal.
So, what's the problem again about eating healthy?
If you can afford a Disney trip, you can afford a car, that is my philosophy![]()
I don't need anyone else to "take responsibility" for any of my decisions. and I will not give up my freedom of choice for government control of anything.(and I really don't care for chicken strips, anyway. that's not the point)This is one of the problems in America that people don't seem to realize - people don't take responsibility for their eating habits, they need someone to do it for them.
I didn't read every single post on this thread, but I did read quite a few. Now I just have to give my opinion since I worry about the food that goes into mine and my families bellies.
If your kid only eats "such and such" and its not provided then I guess hes going to be one hungry kid. At my house, I make 1 meal and if you don't like it, too bad, eat at the next meal. I don't go to wdw for the food, no way. I usually don't even think about it until Im there. I go for the mouse and the memories with my family. If something like not having chicken strips ruins your vacation then Im so sorry for you.[/QU
when my kids were still kids, I did not let them be one hungry kid if they didn't eat healthyon vacation. it's vacation. I let them skip the veggies and eat ice cream.
I don't think anyone said it "ruined" their vacation. disney changes things all the time. and if you go often, you should let them know if you don't like changes. how else will they know? you are not a complainer. you are an informed consumer, making your wants known.if you want your kids to have grapes for dessert, fine. I wanted my kids to have ice cream for dessert on vacation. (both boys are adults now, and neither are overweight in the slightest)
disney DOES react and respond to feedback. this is how any company knows what their customers like and don't like. on this issue, the answer seems obvious. people want a CHOICE, want to make their own health related decisions on vacation. "big brother" has no place in disney.
But Disney's not the/a government; it's a business. If the numerous choices listed by Tricia1972 - ranging from 'not too bad for you' to 'grease' - aren't unhealthy enough for Guests upset with the company's choices/changes, there are more appropriate places for those Guests to vacation, places where they'll be happier.I don't need anyone else to "take responsibility" for any of my decisions. and I will not give up my freedom of choice for government control of anything.(and I really don't care for chicken strips, anyway. that's not the point)

I hardly think that eating a few burgers on white bread during a WDW visit is going to CAUSE a heart attack during that trip; and on the other side of the token, I don't think eating a few burgers on wheat bread during a WDW trip is going to PREVENT a heart attack during that trip, either.![]()
I couldn't agree more with the OP. What is the big deal? Just work around it.
