Why don't we make this trip report about 2012 & 2013.

Your latest creations look great! I love the boy's set.

Have you had enough of the cold? I'm trying to remember how hot it was this summer when we went to Astoria for the weekend so my son could use my car. His air conditioner was so noisy (and it's a new building) that I slept on his balcony one night. I could see the Freedom Tower from "bed".

I was doing some sewing in the basement, but came up for WARM air. It's 59 degrees in my sewing quadrant.

Five weeks until WDW -- and I spend most of my dis time checking to see if the news mugs are out. I'm not even sure why, I'm not planning to buy one unless the design knocks my socks off.

I'm posting from my iPad so no smiley faces, but if you use your imagination maybe you can figure out where I would have put them!

I just LOVE everything... I wish I could find a knit dress like that (ahem - in MY size) to wear at Disney this summer...

D~

Thanks D that dress was from Walmart and was a great find for adding a little extra too.

I love everything you make! I am a very simple crafter.

Congratulations on the new baby! I'm so glad everything is going ok.
We will be in Disney the 1st of March and are excited to eat at BOG. Well have to compare experiences. Have a great day!

Thanks we are excited about the baby, it is just hard being pregnant at this age. We are super excited about eating at BOG.

Cheryl I hate the cold. Thankfully we don't get quite as cold winds as Astoria does but I am ready for spring.

I'm sorry about your MIL. Sending prayers.
We flew out of Islip once and I agree it's a lovely airport. Very far for us!

Amanda

Love all of the latest creations as always. I am so sorry you aren't feeling well!:hug: I hope things improve soon. :goodvibes

WARNING THIS IS A VENT POST......

So as many of you know my MIL was diagnosed with cancer a couple of weeks ago. She is finally being released from the hospital. To date we still don't know exactly what type of cancer or what stage though (at least DH and I don't)

She only had the biopsy on Friday. I personally am not happy with the treatment she is receiving but everyone else is. The family is not asking questions about prognosis, alternative treatment or anything.

G and I have been dealing with doctors for years and always go in with a list of questions. It is hard for my DH to get there because he works nights and with the bus strike and our kids we have a lot going on trying to help me.

My MIL is scheduled to have radiation everyday this week as an outpatient. My idiot BIL schedules it for 4pm in the afternoon and then tells my DH he has to help. DH does not mind helping but hello 4pm is a crappy time. C has dance J has the sensory gym and we have to pick the kids up from school due to the bus strike. Use your friggin brain. Or talk to use before you make appointments.

I have offered help my parents are great and offered to help too but they can't do 4pm either. Why don't you schedule things for the morning (DH could take her right after he gets home from work or early afternoon.

My father told me to take a deep breath and relax and that I think things thru too clearly. I just get super annoyed because these people wanted nothing to do with us for years and now they want our help.

If you made it through this rambling on rant thank you. I promise to keep this PTR much happier from now on.

Oh how difficult for you! Hopefully the times can be changed to make it more convenient for those who want to help! You already seem to have days filled and overflowing!
I had my last child at age 43. My youngest at the time was 14. What a surprise but what a blessing she is! There are challenges in being an "older" mom but they are so worth it. Have a great night. Ruth

Sorry to hear about your MIL and sorry to hear about the pressure they are putting on you and G to help them. You need to take care of yourself and stay healthy for the new baby. My Mom was 36 when she had my little brother. He is 17 years younger than me and right now I'm so grateful he lives a 5 minute drive from our parents in MI and can help them with doctor appts and etc.

I think every family has someone that doesn't keep in touch or are distant and you don't hear from them until they need something. I had a cousin's daughter get in touch with me asking me for money so she could stay in a hotel for 3 days until she moved into an apt in Ohio. She said she saw my name on FB when I responded to a 'very close' cousin and remembered my name. First, I saw her mother maybe 1 or 2 times when I was around 7 years old and that was it. I didn't know that she was deceased now nor did I know she had any children...and out of the clear blue sky the kid thinks she can get $ from me. I told her that I was sorry she was having money issues but my husband and I are both retired and we are on a budget. I see her on FB everyday with some sort of problem and I also notice a lot of her friends telling her she needs to take care of herself and take responsibility if she wants a change. I guess I really happy that my parents didn't keep in touch with that part of the family. :offtopic: Sorry about that...I guess I needed to vent this morning...:scratchin

I've been lurking for a while and decided it was time to pipe up. First of all, so sorry for the family angst coming your way. People don't use their heads sometimes and that makes it difficult for others. And where better to rant than your own PTR?? Getting it off your chest is healthy, so do it as often as necessary! Also, glad the heartbeat scare was nothing and the baby is healthy.

As for all your creations. Just WOW!!! Beautiful work on them...every single one of them! I can't even pick out a favorite. You are getting so much done while feeling not so good. You should be very proud of yourself. And if you lay on the couch sometimes, you're entitled, so enjoy it!

I hope the time can be changed for your MIL's treatments and will be praying for her, you and the situation.

I missed your update Chiara... I am so sorry for all that you have been going through. I know you haven't been feeling well and with this bus strike and everything else - I can only imagine how frustrated you must be.

I hope that things are working out - and maybe you were able to change someo f her appointments to work out better with your schedule.

(((Hugs)))

D~

sorry about the issues with your MIL and family....you have to do what's best for YOU and your family Chiara! help when you can and leave it at that! sorry if this sounds cruel, but after dealing with crap from my family and JIm's after his death I learned the hard way! you, G and kids that should come first ALWAYS!

So sorry to hear that your MIL is having to deal with this illness. I love your dad's advice. it seems that some people don't change and do what they want, even if it doesn't make sense.

I feel bad that you and G are getting so much stress from this situation. I can't believe that you are still having to drive the kids to school, especially with the different schools and schedules. I hope that the strike is resolved soon.

Do what you have to do for your family and keep calm for the newest addition to your family. :)

So an update on MIL is there is no update. they still don't know really what stage cancer she has, what the primary location is or anything else. They redid her biopsy on Monday and she has to wait another 10 days for the results:confused3. This is where I would be screaming and yelling. DH and I have decided we will help out when we can but we have to concentrate on our little family. I know that may be selfish to some but this is what is right for us.

Other updates on us
I had my monthly OB appointment on Wednesday and I lost another 2lbs and it isn't from lack of eating but I will take it. The baby's heartbeat was 142 so that is good. I have my anatomy sonogram on Valentines Day because I want G to come with me. Need to find out what this baby is.

The school bus strike is still going on with no end in sight. We are waiting for a snowstorm to hit so the kids are home with Daddy while I am at work for a little bit.

We are 44 days from our easter trip and I need to get busy with some customs. I need to figure out a couple things to make for J so if you have boy ideas post about them.

good luck deciding what to create for J, know you'll come up with some cute! I found three cute disney shirts yesterday at OldNavy I picked up for our trips! one mickey, one minnie and one lady & the tramp!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad to hear this - I know how badly it's been stressing you out! And I hope that a nice compromise was reached.

So how about a little trip update. We leave in 36 days and I have made nothing but me feeling guilty I was able to purchase a couple things. I need to take some pictures though.

J has a fabulous Toy Story set.
C has an awesome Italy up cycle
She also has a great Alice set on its way along with a fabulous stitch dress

I also won an auction by the fabulous Leslie for a Belle and beast set.

Oh and I have lots of fabric for a few sets for J that I am going to cut out this weekend.

Yea for the bus strike being over! :yay::yay::yay:

I can't wait to see the outfits, especially the B&the B one! :cloud9::cloud9:

Yea for your trip being so close!

Yea for a good ultrasound! :cheer2:

I swear that the bus strike must of been weighing on me something fierce because I have tons of energy since it is now over.

I have been working on an order that should be done today so new pictures soon.

I am going to try and work on a new mini planner. Need to see if I can do it in either iphoto or paint since those are what are on my new mac and i have paint on my laptop.

I have been busy cutting things out for J since he needs some new shorts he seems to have grown in the past few weeks.

Well time to go get the second child on the bus.

Words cannot describe how happy I am for you that the bus strike was over... I was starting to get so worried for you - since it seemed to be a huge stressor. I wish I could have come to help you and ease your burden a bit - I would have, ya know?

Try to take it a bit easy now... Get some rest and enjoy beings able to do your sewing uninterupted. ;)
