Why don't the CS locations have a scanner to see how many credits you have left?

In the thread about someone saying the DDP is causing long lines at counter service locations because no one knows how many credits they have left, I suggested that maybe the counter service locations should install a scanner where guests can swipe their KTTW cards and it can tell them how many credits they have left. However no one responded to that comment, so I am asking again in a new thread if you think it is a good idea in general so this way there can be less confusion over the number of credits guests have remaining? This way there would be no confusion when trying to pay for you food while standing in line.

When you order and pay it shows on your reciept. the problem is that people don't pay attention I guess. I am OCD when it comes to out points so I always know. Not sure what happens when people don't know though.
It would be good to have free standing scanners, I am afraid it would be wrong though and people would start causing more issues. Again, Not sure why they are not checking their reciepts after they last ordered.

ITA with this. We've never had a problem figuring out how many of each type of credits we have. I don't think there's that big of a need.

Since my family and I have never purchased the DDP I had no idea your reciept says the number of credits you have left, although it does make sense that they do that.

We found most CMs at the CS restaurants made a point to show us the bottom of our receipts so we were aware of how many credits were left. Like a previous poster, I'm pretty OCD about it, so I kept track religiously!!

Yep, it's a non-issue. Each receipt shows how many credits you have left. No need for a scanner.

As others have siad it really is a non-issue unless you don't take the time to read the bottom of your reciept. I have used the dining plan twice and plan to use it again in July. I think what really holds up the lines are the people just staring into space and then figuring out what they want when they get to the register. With or without the DDP I order by # and then order the drinks, then desserts if anyone is having one. It doesn't take any longer to run the DDP plan than a credit card since it is the same card--your room key--though to keep things from getting messed up I do not use a card that has charging on it when I order from the DDP. I think it is just everyone eats at about the same time and the places are busy, add to that human error and quirks and you have long lines that are inefficient.

If you loose track of your DDP credits you can get a credit report from the concierge at your resort. I did this last trip because several different people in our party were using the same plan. I would verify totals every couple of days. We did have one error where our waiter at Wolfgang Pucks charged our DDP and our room charge for the same meal. The concierge desk removed the room charge without question.

I agree, we just returned last weekend from our trip and used the DDP for the 5th time since last year and not a single problem. Whenever you use the QS credit your receipt not only says how many you used during that transaction, it also says how many remain. If a person gets overwhelmed, then a quick stop at your resort guest service desk and they will happily print out a list of what you have left and even print out the complete list of where you used every one of your credits and the dates. (We often get the complete list near the end of our trip when it's a 2 week trip like my last one.) The DDP is easy to use. Folks who hold up the line would be the same one holding up lines whether they were using the plan or paying cash. The DDP is an easy tool to use. We are often complimented on how well we undertand the usage of it.
