ROFR Thread July to Sept 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

I love my VGF direct! That’s how I get to stay at Riviera.
Me too! We bought in 2023 and couldn’t be happier. With the incentives the cost was in the low $160s pp as I recall, so it feels like we got direct points at resale prices. And the low maintenance fees are making it a great purchase over the life of the contract. We feel so fortunate to have chosen that particular time to venture into DVC!

Aware the contract is very stripped but we’re not planning on going back until 2027 anyway and the seller is covering 2026 dues. Thought it was a good price until I saw some of the prices here! Happy regardless and hoping it passes!
It's a good price, especially if you aren't heading back till 2027. Good luck!!

That's a good price and it works for what you need. This isn't the best place to compare prices, as we aren't the average resale buyers. Be happy with your purchase.

There are 126 AKV contracts on the market currently. I’m going to be “that guy” and ask the question of if you don’t need the points until 2027 why you settled for an “OK” price as opposed to being more patient/aggressive and going for a “great” price or a contract with 2026 points that could be rented out at $18pp or banked into 2027….

There are similar contracts out there with the full 2026 points that have had a price drop…. I bet you could get one of those for not much more than this current contract.

You have 10 days from when the first contract is sent to ROFR to negotiate like heck for other contracts and still be able to rescind the initial contract and get your deposit back with no penalty.

It’s a good question. We were at AKV at the time, about to check out, and we knew we wanted to do this for a while so it felt the natural time ‘emotionally’ - and this particular contract had just been reduced and was the lowest I’d seen for 100 pts which is what we needed. If I’d seen this thread earlier, I’d have realised it wasn’t the best deal - but we did offer 95 when it was priced at 99.

We’re from the UK and intend to skip our usual holiday to Florida next year to pay for the contract cost. We had a 0 percent interest money transfer deal with a card which was due to expire soon (not sure if these are common in the US but it’s almost like a loan - but money from your credit card goes to your bank). Doing it quick was important as it means we can pay that off prior to 2027 with zero interest and then enjoy the years of holidays we’ll get.

Still works out great financially for the length of the contract compared to direct so happy overall, even if I could’ve saved a couple hundred!

With any big purchase, there's always a feeling of "oh, maybe I could have done a little better." Could you have saved $3-5 per point? Probably. Would that have been worth spending a few more weeks looking at contracts, submitting offers, and negotiating? Maybe, but probably not based on what you've said. Whether it's $85 or $100 per point, you still got a price you were happy with and a huge discount on every future stay that uses the points (even compared to renting). And to that I say, Welcome Home!

This is exactly it. Same goes with any resale purchase, may it be a DVC deed, a house, a car, or a Marketplace item... Welcome Home!

Sounds to me like you made a reasonable decision. For any decision there can be multiple reasonable choices. As long as we pick one of them, there is no need for second guessing.

New DVC Members, just received the green light from Disney. Kinda surprised this one passed.
Mine was sent on the same day. Still no news. The waiting game is becoming harder. ROFR Monster, go back to bed!
