Yes, it really annoys me. I'll either move or ask them to be quiet. DS3 does a great job without being asked: "Mommy, those people are talking when they're supposed to be listening!!!"

What I don't understand is why someone would drop $40 on movie tix, soda & treats when you can buy the movie 6 months down the road for $20. The big screen experience isn'tthat nice. Besides, short of a cinema pub, you can't quaff your favorite beverage whilst watching.

Around here they turn the sound up so high you really can't hear anyone else talking. One time though these two teens were so loud and I shushed, and shushed and asked politely and then basically said SHUT UP -- we are paying $50 with the babysitter for this movie! I was so annoyed (this is when the kids were tiny and we hardly ever got out) that I followed them out to the parking lot and marched right up to their Mom's car and proceeded to give her an earful about her rude child and his friend. They looked like they were about to die and she didn't look too happy with them either. When we walked away my DH said she was chewing them out.
