Why don't cast members know about pool hopping?

I agree with dzorn. Changing the pool hopping rules would only impact those of us that follow the rules.

We have stayed at BWV and they did have CMs by Libations and at the other end of the pool near the canal checking IDs and giving out wristbands.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I wish they would do away with ALL POOL HOPPING!!! Swim where you stay, or go to the waterparks. One of my biggest pet peeves at VWL is vacationers at FW coming over and sneaking in to the pools at VWL. And I know they aren't supposed to do that, but nobody checks. If everyone just stayed where they were staying, pools wouldn't get over packed in the heat of the day, and don't get me into chair saving!! You always see that family of six taking six chaises front row and then never using all but two chairs because the kids are having a ball in the pool!

hoping that will stop FW finally has a great pool.

I agree.

This does not surprise me. In 2008 my son was 1" to short for 2 rides. Both times a CM gave us a Family Fastpass for our next visit. So 10 months later we went back my son was now tall enough. At both rides we gave this Family Fastpass and both times they looked at us funny. I said to the CM do you think I printed this in my garage before leaving for my trip. Both times the CM had to check with someone.

I think they are not use to seeing them because I think most poeple do not even save them or misplace them. But not me I put them in a safe place for 10 months and pulled them out for my trip.

Some members get very ugly when asked to leave, cast members don't need the hassle or complaints

DVC'ers can pool hop to the Poly? I have wanted to check out that pool but I didn't think we could. AND they sell Dole Whips there?, outside by the pool? Yipee

ITA! I get so irritated when we come back to VWL during the day and the boats from FW are unloading 20 people in swimsuits that are pool hopping at VWL.

Then tell a life guard and complain to management. Unless someone complains they will not stop it.

I doubt Pool Hopping is going away. It is a perk DVD can use to sell the DVC resorts that does not have any additional costs associated with it nor relies on an outside vendor.

Thanks to the OP for bringing up the awareness of the pool hopping perk. If we use it, we will bring the booklet with us.

Just a question?

When we was last at walt disney world we was told by a CM that we can Resort hop i.e. go to the resturants, use the spas (paid), Pools etc. As long as we stayed in a WDW resort? Is this wrong advice?

We pool hopped for the first time on our trip to Kidani last week. Most days we were able to get back to our resort to swim. But I knew the day we were in EPCOT and had ADR's at The Captain's Grille, there wouldn't have been enough time to get back to Kidani for an afternoon swim. So I packed our swimsuits and we went over to BWV! It was fun!

I did check quickly with the concierge desk to make sure it was allowed b/c I forgot if there were blackout dates in August. He knew what pool hopping was! :thumbsup2

We thoroughly enjoyed monorail pool hopping last Friday. Including Dole Whips at the Poly. But I doubt we'd have done it if we weren't staying at BLT. Maybe if we had a car, otherwise I think it'd be more trouble than its worth. For the record, the Poly was our least favorite pool. Very crowded and it just wasn't that great. But we enjoyed lunch at Captain Cook's - nice change of pace from the Contempo Cafe. I honestly preferred the CR pool and the GF slide. And no one said a word to us about pool hopping - no guards or guests. Despite the fact we just strolled in with our suits and cover-ups on. It had to be obvious we came to use the pools. (But I had my DVC Membership card just in case.)

You can visit any resort you want to dine, look around or shop. If you are not a DVC member (and pool hopping isn't blacked out or not permitted at that resort), you can't swim in that pool unless you are guest of that resort.

If you want to swim at a resort (and you are not a DVC member), you need to be a guest staying at that resort.
